Ain't No Grave (also known as Gonna Hold This Body Down) is a traditional American gospel song attributed to Claude Ely (1922-1978) of Virginia. Claude Ely describes composing the song while sick with tuberculosis in 1934 when he was twelve years old.

Still listening to this song and it is fascinating that to hear Molly Skaggs speak in her sweet voice with a Tennessee accent, you wouldn't expect the authority and power that she brings to this song. She has such a commanding presence when she brings this song. Glory!

If Claude Ely wrote this while suffering so much that explains the anointing on the song, even if others sing it, it was birthed in trial!
