Air bubbles in soap can be one of the causes of white spots in soap. It is a common problem in soapmaking if you use a stick blender. Burping is one step to eliminate air bubbles but it might be that your Stick or Immersion blender seal is busted and suck air into your soap. Here is one method how to troubleshoot soap-making problems by test your blender seal and get rid of those white spots in your soap for good.

How interesting! Thanks so much for sharing. I never thought about testing the seal before making soap. I always just notice when it starts churning more bubbles in my batter, and then it becomes an HP blender instead of a CP blender. This could save me some bubbles in the future. 😃

You are most welcome. Well done on taking the first step making your first batch of soap. Luckily bubbles are purely cosmetic, it might not look nice but it is still soap, it will clean 😉

Gosh - really helpful thank you. Have definitely got air bubbles in my lavender soaps, then yesterday stearic spots - which led me to this video! I'm going to test my blenders now, thank you so much for showing what to do!

OOh, me again! Wow, just thrown away 50% of my stick blenders! (2 out of 4!). Am now up to batch 11 of my lavender soap, and I'd say only one batch is 'lovely'. I could NOT understand what I was doing wrong all the other times - seriously - driving me NUTS! This explains it brilliantly. Not to conquer the stearic spot issue and warm up my oils a tad! Thank you so much again.

Thank you, excellent video. Bubbles didn't bother me too much but I started using a mold with some finer detail and this really showed me how bubbly my mix was.

If you drill holes will batter shoot out of the holes if it comes up to the surface while blending
@saponify6677
@saponify6677 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chasity. If you drill holes, all that happens is the trapped air pushes out at the top as you lower the blender into the oil. But while blending I didn't experience anything shooting up , once under the surface it works as it normally does.

Stearic acid must just be soaped above 45°C (melt your fats and butters down until Clear), if it is used at lower soaping temperatures it solidifies too fast creating tiny white beads in your soap.

It was a batch of laundry soap, for laundry soap I only use a 1%superfat but Tallow soap is quite gentle on the skin,.
