I almost caused an international incident while in Morocco a few years ago. I was out to lunch with some of my students who because of religious reasons didn't eat pork. One of them asked me if I ate pork? I told him there was nothing like smelling bacon frying in the morning. Yes I loved pork. Needless to say I wasn't well accepted with the class.

A great easy cleanup for this (I have a Cosori like this one) is I take the fryer insert out and put it over the square parchment insert for these fryers. Then you can just remove the parchment when it's cooled. Of course, the insert will still need to be cleaned but the large basket will be grease free :)

It's been so long since I had a new fun toy. I don't enjoy cooking anymore. It's become a chore, not something "life-affirming." The nuke and I go way back, but it makes lousy fried chicken. LOL. This air fryer keeps me amused, guessing, experimenting, like the early days with a microwave oven. I buy that nuke-bacon, 30 seconds till ready, but it's a decadent experience, a pricey one, just too easy to prepare the entire package at once. What we won't do for a bacon fix. So, maybe now I can bring home the bacon, for real.

I love regular cut bacon cooked crispy. BTW, after oven roasting, microwaving, grilling, or pan frying, the latter is my preferred method for eating bacon. The down side is all the splatter on the stove. The more hot grease in the pan, the better. So I tried my air fryer and it was a very close second. Delicious! I have my thick hickory smoked bacon in the freezer right now so it's easier to cut extra fat off. Plus I cut some of the bacon in half so it fits on burgers, BLT, breakfast sammies and breakfast tacos. Hubby likes his bacon flabby. It's done, but soft 🐽 I like mine crispy. Not on the verge of burnt, but brown and it doesn't bend when you hold it up. Will look at more of your air fryer videos.

Howdy from Yuma, Arizona. The coffee is on and it is "Folgers Black Silk". Thick cut bacon is the only type we eat. I do enjoy the rind-on thick cut bacon but is difficult to find in a local grocery store here. This type of bacon reminds me of when my grandmother would make it in the cast iron skillet. It's really easy - just throw away the entire unit (please recycle) and use a new one.... Probably the best answer is to clean/wipe out immediately after each use, but who has time for that What works best for me is - if it's going to have fats/oils/cheese I'll pull the basket out completely and line the bottom with aluminum foil to catch most of the drippings - or just line the inside of the basket with Foil/Parchment paper. Bonus tip. Use heavy duty alum foil - the fan won't blow it around - you can fold small 'V's into the foil so air can still circulate underneath (like a folding fan) or if you're feeling lazy, just wrinkle up the foil in hand to make a bunch of ridges.

My wife is exactly the same way as to the extra, extra, crispy, fatty bacon as her favorite way to eat it. That, and almost burn to a crisp. In fact, when we eat breakfast at our local hole in the wall, trucker's cafe, the staff there get a kick out of telling her what she wants even before she can open her mouth to order it. They repeat that exact quote and always laugh at her when they do it like that. She had gastric surgery years back, and somehow this texture of bacon just satisfies her completely. Me, I am like you and enjoy a softer texture, too. Thanks for posting. I was thinking you may have the time incorrect for the extra crispy bacon, but glad you adjusted it and explained before you ended your video. I made the error of not going with the extra time on the very first time I mad this for my wife. She was not happy with just 7 minutes and then an additional 2 minutes. ;-)

I had THICK cut bacon and did 400F for about 13-14 mins and came out golden brown perfect. I think people really need to test adjust depending on bacon used and machine used. Start off with the 400F 4-5 min range and then go up as needed.

Really crispy!! 🥓🥓🥓 And yes! To the bacon on the camp fire. My best childhood memories are from camping on family vacation. Add the sound of someone chopping kindling and the smelk of coffee and you have the perfect morning.

Medium is the way to go! It’s a fine meat. Like steak. And it’s a sin to completely cook a steak. Or just about any meat.

Air fryer is my favorite way to cook bacon. It cooks evenly over the entire strip. Sometimes pans can heat unevenly. Plus the cleanup is a breeze and for those of us who save our bacon grease, it drains easily into my repurposed pickle jar full of grease.

I know this is very basic but I cannot successfully cook bacon in my apt. It gets smokey, the bacon doesn't cook evenly and sometimes it almost burns. Loved this tutorial and your energy.

I’m so glad my method of cooking bacon in the air fryer is helpful for you. I have also struggled with some “easy” things in the past so I know how you feel. I hope you give this method a try. If you do let me know how it works for you. Thanks again!

You're trying to rush it. If the pan is smoking, your heat is too high. Try frying your bacon at a lower temperature. Medium is hot enough.

I like my bacon crispy, to where it is stiff and crunches. I use to camp and the smell of frying bacon was awesome. Bacon will drive you crazy smelling it.

That's hardly unusual to enjoy the smell of raw bacon, particularly if it's marinated with things like maple or other smoked marinations

I agree also. It has way more flavor not being over cooked IMO. Just like any other meat. Gotta use the thick cut also if you want it softer. I just cooked a pound that my son had bought. It was thin bacon and it came out too crispy for me. So I'm going to save that for him. Cooking my thick bacon now so I can cook it like I like it.

When home, breakfast is usually quick, maybe healthy, and light, dinner is the main meal... However, when camping, it reverses. Breakfast, or some may call it brunch, since it takes a while, but it becomes by far the best, heartiest, and maybe the least healthy meal of the day, but it rocks. Something about bacon and maybe some ham or sausage on the fire, coffee perking, and potatoes and eggs on the grill just make it taste better than anything else you could fix.

I have an air fryer with trays and a window. My best method is to sandwich the bacon slices between the wire racks so that they don't fly around in there and get stuck in the corner or something. They cook really evenly. I use the English style bacon with very little fat and 200C for ten minutes for bacon better and easier than in the pan.

I just cooked 3 rashers of dry cured unsmoked baon in my Ninja air fryer for the first time and it turned out great. I had to adjust the cooking time and temperature for my particular device, but it saves on electricity for heating up a grill, while for frying bacon in a pan on the stove, you do need a little oil or fat of some kind. The only problem with air fryers is that you have to keep cleaning them in hot, soapy water maybe three times a day if you use one a lot like I do.

I have a Ninja, too, and the constant washing is always a pain. As soon as I've finished cooking I pour boiling water into the basket with some washing-up liquid and leave it to soak for a couple of hours.
