Followup - My Eagle wheelchair is still going strong. I'm a right leg amputee since 2003 and use it to get around my yard near bout every day- don't use it in the house very much. My yard is flat in front and has a grade it back tthat gets me up to my burn barrel. It has no problem climbing the hill. It's fairly stable, but I have tipped it over 3 times in the 4 years I've had it - I tried to climb the hill where it was too steep - thing's got power All in all, I am glad I got it.

I’ve had my Eagle HD for a year now, and still love it’s mobility and ease of transport.

I just purchased (10/14/19) the Eagle and will be getting it in 4-5 days. I looked at a LOT of power chairs in my search. I'm a right leg amputee (above the knee) and use a regular wheelchair when I take my prosthesis off.. I lost my leg back in 2003 due to gangrene after a bad motorcycle accident. I use my regular wheelchair to drag my hose pipe around my yard as I water my grass and it's tough. I'm hoping I've just made life easier by getting the Eagle. Also, my family has a cabin (with a wheelchair ramp) on some hunting property we own and we have camp outs now and then. The Eagle should work well there, too. After I get it and try it out, I'll return here and let you all know how it works out.

It arrived and it is what I was expecting. The tires are wider than those on my regular wheelchair (those skinny tires made it hard to wheel around my yard) - The Eagle just goes right on along. The ramp into my house rises 17 inches over a lenght of 118 inches and the Eagle motors right on up it, no problem and it didn't ever try to tip over backwards. I took it up to the cabin and it carried me all over, even up the hill to the picnic table. You really need to anticipate stopping it. It doesn't stop immediately upon releasing the toggle - I knew it wouldn't. I almost ran into my birdbath because I didn't allow enough time for it to stop - I've got that issue down pat now. Upon entering my garage and going along beside my car, it's nice to slow the speed down (that's controlled on the left side of the joystick thingee). The only thing I'd recommend is that it come in a camouflage paint job. All, in all, I LIKE it.

Hello I Am Ready To Buy A Portable Wheelchair. Trying To Decide Between The Air Hawk & Eagle. I Am Also A Right Above The Knee Amputee. Im Actually A Hemi. Any Advice On Which Chair I Should Purchase.

@@sjohnso123 - Hi, fellow amputee. I am still enjoying my Eagle. I use it around my yard to do a variety of things - refill my bird bath, check the mail, pick up wood debris, etc. It doesn't have a break, so I have to anticipate when I want to stop. There's a hill going up into the wooded area of my back yard, and it motors right on up it. It is easy to operate, in fact, my 7 year old grandson can operate it. I have no experience with the other powered wheel chairs, but I'm enjoying the Eagle. I think it weighs more than 35 lbs, though, I can't lift it to put it in my CR-V. The battery's charge holds for a long time. I also like the never-go-flat tires.

Do the chairs have the ability to go off the hard pavement, such as can be found in the walking trails in State or National Parks, also are there any plans to have "All Terrain Vehicle" tires (fat ones) for the rear wheels, that can be replaced for normal street/home travel?

Hi Cameron, thanks for commenting! The chairs are great in the national parks, you would not have troubles in most cases. We do not have different tires at the time.

Trying to decide between the KD Smart Chair and Your Electra 7. I’m leaning toward the Electra but I like that the KD has somewhat of an ergonomic back and also love that the controller has a USB port. Are there any plans to add either one of those features?

Hello Raimcg, Please look at the overall weight capacity of the other chair you mentioned, then the Electra7, which can hold up to 400lbs! With technology changing so fast, and less phones and computers providing an option for a USB port, we will likely figure something out, but we are waiting to make the correct move. People tend to purchase The Electr7 more quickly than we can produce them. We get lots of appreciation and positive feedback too!

Hello Gary, although we do not currently ship to the UK, many customers outside of our shipping area (Canada and USA) have us ship to a freight forwarder in the US. The costs of the freight are then between the forwarder and the customer. We hope this helps!

So the ONLY difference between the Electra 7 and the Eagle is the extension in the arm? Why is the price $360 more for an 2 inches of aluminum? I'm researching a ton of chairs & so far the Electra 7 seems like the best one for me. Why such a big jump in the price?

Hi Rabbit, The Electra7 is a specialty chair. It has more to do with how the chairs are made than anything else. The Electra7 is not yet a "main production" chair like the Eagle and costs more as a result.

Gotta tell you. I've been hitting every kind of chair & reading reviews, specs & all around how easy they are to get around, or move around. I may go with the Electra7 simply because of the few extra inches. So I can always put a bag inside the arm rest for better security in crowded places. Thank you very much for your reply.
