I like that these age well. When the netting and outsole start to yellow, it contrast good with the burgundy. Same with the Olives coming out next year.

I am young(born in 2004) so obviously im not gonna remember these releasing in '06 but these caught my eye awhile back during the pandemic as well as the olive 5's(excited for those aswell). Wish I was around to see colorways like these release but I was super young once again. So im excited to finally own these and add them to my collection.

This J5 is CRAZY 🔥FIRE!🔥 I’m more excited about this release than any other new release this year that I’ve bought. And, I disagree about the new style/cut. Especially the toe box. I think it’s MUCH better than the older OG versions. Same cut as the newer UNC 5’s. Infinitely better looking IMO.

This is my favorite Jordan shoe Period. My HS colors are burgundy and back in 06 there was nothing more that I wanted than to walk the halls with these on feet. So appreciative for this retro and was fortunate enough to Copped 2 pairs of my favorite kick of all time. Loved my ever so comfortable wolf grey 5s btw.

Just a heads up, Air Jordan Flight Club shirts are on sale at Dick’s Sporting Good for $13.12 each as of 8/12/23! I was able to pick up the white/infrared shirt which somewhat resembles the original shirt given back in the 90’s.

Am a casual sneaker fan and these caught my eye immediately. Love the colourway and have to say for a basketball/lifestyle shoe, these are extremely comfortable. Can be worn for long hours and is not picky to match with any clothes. Love 'em.

Love this colorway. One of my favorites and a must have. I'm glad to say I've had pretty much every colorway of the 5 that I've really wanted and chased after except for one, which is my grail Jordan 5.... The Motorsports. I'll never have them, I doubt they'll ever re-release them due to how exclusive and limited they were, but I can still dream lol.

I'm glad they bought these back. I have the originals. Love the color way, the clear toggle to hold the shoe strings so I don't have to tie these. The toe is beautiful 😍. Can't wait to get mine and compare them to the originals

They released along side the fire red 5’s with the 23 on the side of the heel in 06. I remember waiting in line for the fire red 5’s everybody was looking at me funny because everybody was in line for the LS burgundy’s. I kicked myself later on because the fire reds were still available a few weeks later and these sold out that day.

Thanks for the trip back in time. I do remember these releasing in 2006. Thanks also for the reference to the Flight Club, it was a cool time to be a sneakerhead. Do you also remember that there was an actual basketball camp called Flight Camp? I knew a couple of people who went, and both said that it was a great time! Thanks for another great review!

AgH!!! I bought the AJ3 retro for hubs for Xmas - online and picked them up at Nike. I walked in grabbed his shoes at the counter looked to my right and immediately noticed these AJ 5’s. I also got these. These are amazing and now I am annoyed that he got two Jordan’s and I got ZERO. I am not digging the new 3’s with the black and orange, they definitely don’t look like $200 shoes! They look cheap AF. We’ll see. Anyways, I am super stocked to know that these are of quality (as I had thought). Also, companies really need to stop selling shoes that are “vegan” leather… pleather, people you mean pleather!!!

I will never not root for better materials on these shoes. Especially when they retail like they are. I will admit, these are GORGEOUS. But, I'm to the point now where I'm tired of JB/Nike releasing only new/returning retro+ colorways and not more OGs. The black metallics would be a good candidate for that "reimagined" treatment where JB/Nike should switch the original material from durabuck to actual nubuck, or heck, make it all leather like the "reimagined" playoff 4s returning next year. Not trying to dog anyone's excitement for these. The 5 is arguably my favorite of the early models. But I want more OGs to drop

I didn’t get em on 06’! Been salty ever since. Great review. 225 price tag, but hit on FTL. I think they are a fire 5. What other great 5s were there this year*? I forget. I’m n the fence but probably gonna do it. Yup I am as I was writing this I said they look good. The yacht is paid off. I’ll grab em on my lunch break

Can't wait till I can afford a new pair of my first numbered pair of deep burgundy/maroon5z.... wish they had the jeanz too I still got the hat and tshirt.... also I need a new peapod/BearThaFuccDown 8z and never had the dtrt 3z.... dope vid #Kixoholix413Salute also my original pair the color bled on the lacez and tongue and paper.... also the midsole is crumbling and when I tried to wash them the upper turned brown and matted until I woke it up by brushing it but still a very brittle material over time

I had all the Jordan 5s in 2006 then when I was living in San Ramon my roommate Stole all my shoes and Is jerseys and hats!!! He was nowhere to Be find I'm still pissed about it But I'm Blessed I'm still here and they Re releasing all the Jordan's 5s I had that dope But that Price tho with no Retro card Cmon on JB

I agree, Jordan been fkn up the toe box shape on 5s for a long time now, and honestly that’s why I haven’t bought a pair of 5s in a while. Hopefully they’ll fix up, because growing up seeing the tow box shaped like that was the first tell sign that the shoe was fake. And even though I’ve been waiting for burgundy’s to come back, spending almost $250(if u include tax n all) and then starring at this hideous toe box shape every time u look down wouldn’t feel right to me.
