The Defining Moments Pack hit the shelves in 2006 in the form of two shoes that honored Michael Jordan’s 1991 and 1996 NBA championships, the AJ 6 and AJ 11. The AJ6 is constructed with a black nubuck upper contrasted with gold accents and a translucent outsole. The Air Jordan 11 features black patent leather wrapped around with white ballistic mesh and leather uppers. Gold branding hits the Jumpman and accents, rounding out the championship look.

Originally released in 2006 as part of the Defining Moments Pack, the Air Jordan 6 Retro 'Defining Moments' 2020 dropped in April 2020. Built with nubuck, the upper appears primarily in black, accented by metallic gold. A lace lock supports the fit, as does a cushioned ankle and perforations throughout. Underfoot, the midsole houses visible Zoom Air in the heel for cushioning.

Originally released in 2006, the 'Defining Moments Pack', also known as 'DMP', paired the AJ6 and AJ11 into a special release. Celebrating championship silhouettes that MJ wore, both shoes feature OG color blocking with gold accents. The 2023 iteration of the Air Jordan 11 Retro 'Gratitude' returns based on the 'Concord' colorway. Featuring a white tumbled leather upper and a black patent leather rand around the shoe, Metallic Gold accents can be found on the Jumpman logo on the heel and '23' stamped on the back. A Phylon midsole with Nike Air cushioning pairs with a carbon fiber shank plate and a clear rubber outsole.

it’s crazy to me Jordan brand keeps raising the prices of their shoes but keeps giving us less and less elaborate elaborate packaging. No dog tag no pamphlets. You just don’t see the attention to detail in these newer releases!

I've noticed that the "23" on the Jordan 11 DMPs are printed on but the "23" on the Jordan 11 Gratitude is made out of a more substantial material that won't rub off over time.

I will be getting my shoes tomorrow. I won a raffle at City Gear Hibbett sports and yes, I love that this 11 is all leather upper no fabric! that fabric gets dirty too easy! And definitely want the 3’s next week! And I agree they need to start giving us trinkets and memorabilia along with the shoes. They are collectors items they need to realize this! Keep making the videos you are the GOAT !

Really appreciate the comparisons!! Im probably in the minority but I actually prefer the Leather upper over the mesh. Just a lot easier to keep clean in the long run.

I like when the retros closer to the OG’s for the most part, but ngl these with the leather upper will preserve longer than the mesh. The white mesh tends to get dingy or if you waste something on it it can easily stain. The leather upper makes more durable imo

Man they were really skimping on the OG DMP patent leather. Own two pairs of the OG and passed on the gratitudes but this review made me want a pair.

The leather on the new Gratitude is where it’s at. You can actually keep them clean more in my opinion.Just wipe that leather down an keep pushing. Shoe over with after that mesh get dirty but with leather as I say take out laces wipe down an back in motion.

Mesh uppers in the original DMP 11s were maybe an ode to the materials and style in 96 where as the gratitude 11 is a familiar favorite with updated materials. We need the extras back though… we need the boxes, the cards etc back that’s the only way to make the price tag worth it honestly going forward

Them 2 kicks in ONE package literally is still crazy and beautiful. I passed on these back then as a sneaker dude. These kicks didnt instantly sell out in all sizes back then.

I think the reason why the packaging isn’t hoe the DMP is because people now days could care less. It’s just like back in the 90s, opening up cd booklets. Most of these things are online now and most people throw them away. This new generation really don’t care and they know it.

That high cut patent leather on the gratitude 11s is a huge turn off for me, so is the milky outsole, but the leather instead of mesh is big plus imo. Much easier to care for.

It’s crazy to think that back in 2006 this pack came out at around 300 dollars. Nike was putting in some real effort with the dog tags and the cards and the packaging to help justify that price. It made it feel like you were getting your moneys worth. Now in 2023 all they give you is a thank you on inside of the box and a 230 dollar price tag for one pair of shoes. Quality aside these shoes are nice but Nike is getting very lazy with their marketing it’s like they don’t care anymore

I myself would of love to of had the DMP pack back in 06, but I was too young with no money. So to me the retros are very special, I was able to get the 6's back in 2020 and now I have the 11's(gratitudes). Different but closest I'll get to having the originals in my hand.

I love the leather on the new 11s I rocked mine a couple of time but I ain’t saying keep it going with changing what the consumer wants, tbh I say keep it original because I know I am not the only one who missed out on the original pair of dmp 11s because I couldn’t get them back then and want them now for retail and I know that ain’t opinion that is a fact.

I’m sorry but the gratitudes are not DMP’s. There are so many indicators that point to Jordan Brand separating the gratitudes from the DMP 11’s. One main indicator is when they retroed the DMP 6’s they actually put that name on the box. To me that’s a dead giveaway besides all the other things that are different between the gratitudes and DMP 11’s. Nike nor Jordan has been calling them DMP’s, the sneakerworld has. Just my two cents.
