If you want to ultimately commission and go active, I’d wait to do that, but it is certainly possible to do within the ANG. Will be harder.

It’s a fixed schedule. You can get the schedule from your recruiter upon enlisting but there is no say in it.

I'm going to be honest, I am not sure how you would know about the positions available to to rank up. If you are looking to join then your recruiter would know about vacancies.

No it just waives the cost of tuition at the time of schooling. You can always see if the army guard will cover loans.

Great question! I’m not completely sure to be honest. I always was enrolled at full time status. I believe you can but I would confirm with a recruiter.

There’s no simple answer to that. Just depends. Some might not at all others might deploy up to a year.

I’m not sure if you can answer this but I’ll try to explain it the best I can. I will be graduating with my B.S. in Psychology and Im wondering what my rank would be and also I was wanting to further my education higher(Graduate school) I was wondering how that would work in the guard.

Unless you decide to commission instead of enlisting. You can only commission if you have a college degree. And you start off as a O-1 (Second lieutenant)

Going to the Guard doesn't guarantee that you won't deploy. My ANG Red Horse Squadron had a set date to deploy. You can go IRR but still not a guarantee to not deploy just my Experience

Thanks for the video , do you have the ability to decline deployment opportunities? I heard you say something about you were in school so it didn’t work out with them deploying you? Did I hear that correctly?

If you are assigned you can’t decline but it’s very plausible if you tell them in advance of a deployment you don’t want to go that they’ll consider it. Once they have chosen the people they want it’s not possible to decline. Yea I wanted to deploy but wasn’t picked for it.

I want to go back to school in the fall but I want to make sure I have enough money for housing and tuition. I was going to just enlist, go through basic and tech and then go back but I don’t want my student loans to kick in Bc I’m thinking by the time I’m done it will be a year since I haven’t been in school
