I just started at a new company and I was wondering where the air lines were on it to drain the tank, couldn’t find the lines. Saw this thumbnail and was just like, ain’t no way. At least now I know how to check for moisture in em by pushing on it and checking that way.

At first I thought the same thing! I thought there were no lines or nothing on my tanks I thought I was gonna have to buy sum until I found out I had one of these things underneath lol this video helped a lot.

I been using those soldier connectors for a few years now on my semi truck, this is what I have found out, if you use a torch to melt the soldier it doesn't hold that great and often loses it connectivity and time, now I have a small heater gun that heats up with lighter fluid just like the torches, the soldier doesn't get over heated and holds the bond the way it's supposed to, just my two cents and the trials I have gone through but I still use these connectors I love them if it's done right the hold up pretty good, But you have me thinking about putting these on both my air tanks on my semi, it would be nice to have them drain out the water on it's own!! nice appreciate the video...

Thank you. I agree, it took me a while to learn to use lower heat and let them sit to cure before pulling on them. I hope i don't have issues out of this connection, particularly

Hello, I bought one of these automatic drains for my new Dewalt air compressor and have not installed it yet and like you, I was not sure if it would work or how hard it would blow the water out and for what length of time it would stay open. I wanted to use this one because of the simplicity of it only needing to be hooked up to the tank drain. Thin I ran across your well done video which answered all my wondering if this unit would work. Thank you sir for taking the time to make such a great video on this automatic drain. It was a GREAT help for me.

Hi, I am back again and wondering if you are still using that same automatic drain valve? I did get mine hooked up to my shop air compressor using the side inlet instead of the top one and like you I have never seen it blow out any water yet in the shallow stainless steel catch pan. I haven`t pushed the valve on the bottom yet but I think I will soon to see for sure if there is any water in it yet. It is really making me wonder if it is working like it did you. Thanks again for your video!

Good video great content may I suggest using a male and female Spade on electrical if you feel that you might have to disconnect it anytime in the future they also come in shrink and the connection seal up watertight

I've been using hotshot secrets since 200k miles and i also use lucas dpf cleaner every 4th fill up (keep in mind truck holds 100 gallons)

Great video! Are you concerned about it being so low? Does it have enough clearance? In the video it looks low. Do you worry about it catching on something & breaking off? Thanks.

Thank you! I am, so far its been ok but if i ever take the air tank off I'll have another hole put in the front and change the fittings so it will be mounted higher but as long as I'm mostly on the interstate i think it's ok

I've only used those butt connectors once. When I watched some video's on how to use them they had the solder flowing but mine were like how you did it. To get the solder to flow you had to melt the shrinkwrap and that didn't sit well with me.

I want to try it with a heart gun but always grab the torch. I've been using them with the extra piece of Shrink wrap just to make sure they're water tight but they seem to make a quick soldered connection. I wired a boat trailer with them not long ago and would pull against the wires afterwards and was impressed with how strong they were but still added extra Shrink wrap over them

I’m thinking about doing onboard air on my truck haven’t made the purchase yet. This would be a great idea if I do go that route. Thanks for the info! Would love to run out west with you an mr Tennessee sometime. I live in Tennessee myself.

@@CFarmer I think it would be a really good investment so I’ll prob end up doing it. Lol everytime I watch your videos about it you pretty much talk me into it lol. Sounds great man I deff will it’ll be couple weeks before I’ll be ready anyway. I’m doing Florida runs at the moment so that would work out great I’ll deff let ya know!

I don't see why it wouldn't if there's clearance to mount it at the bottom. I wouldn't think you wouldn't need the heated one in a garage. It's quite a bit cheaper without the heater

I am getting ready to hook one up to my air compressor in my heated garage and will use one of those 1/4 inch stainless steel braided air lines that hook to the bottom of the tank to bring it out to the side. I think it will work good after watching this great video.

This is a good device for floatation-pontoons(air-tank.sss.sss.sss) for electric-buses (and diesel-electric semi-submersible tuk-tuk) to prevent them from becoming electric-eels. Brake air tank governor paired with this.
