Can i just say how much i've loved your japan vlogs? I love the "real time" element of them. A lot of bloggers seem to make an edited highlight reel, and it feels very inauthentic. AAs someone looking to visit the country soon, this feels very helpful.

Ive been binging your Japan videos. I'm going to Tokyo in November and I appreciate the raw content of no music and just you roaming the streets. I wouldn't personally be able to do what you do alone but its cool to see you do it! Its amazing youre travelling with 2 backpacks. Is it just like 3-5pairs of clothes and a laptop/camera? I want to bring as minimal as possible but I too want to bring a camera (mine is bigger - gh5+screen+gimbal), not sure how many pairs of clothes since I have a washer at my 2nd stay, and maybe a laptop.

The dessert you purchased from the Shibuya Scramble Square store was a Mame Daifuku mochi that had azuki red bean paste on the inside, surrounded by mochi rice with whole red beans mixed in (Mame is the word for beans, while Daifuku means great luck). The white powder on the outside is not powdered sugar, but usually potato starch or rice flour to retard the Daifuku from sticking to your fingers or other mochi.

I remember getting to Shibuya to find the Nintendo Store. Was my first big store to visit and didn't realise it was 6 floors above me! Took me so long to work out that Tokyo is a very 3-Dimensional city unlike others, where everything exists only at street level. I got WAY more explorative when I worked this out.

The "Daifuku" you ate, Mochi filled with red sweet bean, is something you can enjoy while relaxing at home with Japanese green tea. Even if you eat it alone, it's just too sweet, and it's not something you can eat while standing up like a snack.

Rooftop parks at shopping malls are quite a common thing in notable shopping malls in Japan. Just off the top of my head, there are a few in Shinjuku and in Ginza, Ikebukuro and Omotesando too.

Walked through Shibuya many times and there is always something new to find. This applies to many neighbourhoods. Good that you were able to get a prompt refund on the airbnb and not waste too much valuable time exploring Tokyo.

Cards for the Pokemon game are behind the registers, that is the only place you can buy them (not including the bigger game sets). Bought some for coworkers families earlier this year and had to figure it out.

I had a bad experience in Japan with an Air BNB i Shinjuku area 3 years ago. Now it’s not as bad as your experience. Mine beds one was oversized single with no mattress only box springs the other bed was a futon that had seen better days. The worst the toilet had a kind of fur piece on the seat that couldn’t be taken off or cleaned. Three people sharing this small space. The good news it was ideal location.

If they gave you a refund without checking, then they are aware of the problem and rented to you knowing there was a problem. Write an honest review and let others know about the problems. Your clothes probably cost more then your refund

too bad the airbnb happened to be awful. My family & I had a horrible experience at an airbnb in London. The fee was not cheap, but so many problems, filthy, not working, different from the information from its HP. The owner ended up not receiving our calls in the end. After coming back to Japan, we contacted the head office and they refunded only 10%. I don't use airbnb anymore. hope your journey will be a good one‼️

@@user-sn5cu1gk6i Then it’s pretty simple. If you want to go to the area like Shinjuku,Shibuya,Ueno from Narita airport, you can go for a train called “Skyliner”, it can go to stations like Nippori, Ueno for around 30mins, these two station are also in the JR Yamanote line. This is the line you must know as it is included all famous spots like Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya and Ikeburo. So, if you go for “Skyliner” from airport, you can reach Nippori and Ueno which are also included in JR Yamanote line, you can simply go to those areas easily. For, Shinkansen, the easiest way may be go to Tokyo Station, it has Clearly stated where the platforms are.

@@user-sn5cu1gk6i But if you want to go to places like Asakusa and Ginza, you need to go for Tokyo Metro. I think the JR Yamanote line is the most important thing you must know. Nope, our once incredible cities have been trashed by street thugs and thug politicians. Well on the way to being totally gutted. Good to see there are still some pretty civilized cities on the planet.
