I love this in every stage 😂 the brush strokes would look amazing with flowers for a very monet look, the airbrushing over the brush strokes looks kinda like waves, and the way the color looks half off with like the deep sections looks very vintage-y like an old ad or like grunge-y. Could definitely see all of these techniques working out well for different reasons

I work at a dairy queen and use airbrush very regularly. My suggestion is to use a tri fold piece of cardboard. I place it behind my lazy susanand use the folded slides to contain some of the spray away. Went from having to clean every surface on the counter tro just needing to wipe down a part of the counter.

I’ve never seen someone “clean” a cake but it looked very lovely !

I actually liked the painting. Maybe longer strokes with the same starting and stopping points and take a damp paper towel to blend out the strokes or even everything out for a midnight sky effect. I saw beauty in your creative laziness!!! But I understand if it wasn't exactly the look you were going for too.

Next time pop the cake in the freezer for 10-20 mins and run a cake spatula under hot water and dry it real quick, and then use that to scrape off thin layers of frosting. Alsooooo you can make yourself a small paint box with just a trifold presentation board. That way the paint won't go everywhere and when it's windy you have more control.

Similar to spray painting, why not have a tent that's big/wide enough for the cake and your arm to airbrush inside?
