Airbrushing a Logo

This is a time-lapse video showing the process I use to paint my own business logo. Although the video is very fast, there are important elements that can be picked up on. I point out and explain some of those elements prior to the airbrush portion of the video.

I've been using an airbrush for a few years to paint resin busts/models of various horror and sci-fi characters, but recently decided to try painting on canvas. Your videos have turned out to be invaluable and I appreciate the time and expertise you're sharing!

HOLY FCK ...LOL...that alot of work , but it is pretty fckin cool after each step hmmm very interesting ways of doin this . i think i kindna figure out how you did this..over-lapin each step...will try it this winter lolol tks n awsome job.

It likely seems like a lot of work, especially when adding the beveled look to the lettering with freehand shields rather than a computer cut mask. In reality, it's a lot less work than it once was. Computer cut masks save a ton of time! Thanks for the kind words!

Beautiful work! Picked up a few tips and tricks on using masks and the order in which to use them :) Is that transparent transfer tape you are using? can i ask what brand it is?

Man that was badass to watch. Where are you getting your mask for you logo done at, or are you using something to make them yourself?

Thank you! All of my paint masks are made in my studio using a Graphtec CE6000+ vinyl cutter. There are much less expensive (and smaller) vinyl cutter models available that are marketed toward the hobbyist though (I've heard and read good things about the Silhouette Cameo for example, but I've never personally used one). Years ago, before I owned a vinyl cutter, I used a local sign shop to cut vinyl paint masks when I needed them. So, that's also an option if you have a sign shop nearby.

@@wickedartstudio yea I bought a Cricut Air 2. It does ok but I can't figure out the line up marks. I used to be in Gravure printing and did the film work and had the light tables, etc..... But that was 30+ years ago now....

@@johnfulwider7510 Are you talking about registration marks when using multiple masks like I did in the video, or are you referring to registration issues when using the Cricut cutter and/or software?

@@wickedartstudio well both. The registration marks are why I ask where you were getting the mask, and yea the Cricut either doesn't have them or I don't know how to find and utilize them. Back in my day it was all done by hand

@@johnfulwider7510 Ok. I actually planned to talk a little bit about that during the first portion of this video where I was pointing out other things, but I completely forgot. I'll produce a video that explains exactly how I do that (it's actually a lot easier than you might think).
