The distance compression effect with telephoto lenses is pretty amazing here as it almost looked like the plane was hovering and doing a near vertical descent.

I'm more impressed by the clarity of the shot from 5 kilometers away. The foreshortening effect makes the 2.5 km runway seem short. A top down view on Google Earth restores your perspective.

This is always my favorite airport. You look out one side of the plane and you see the beautiful blue Mediterranean Sea; you look out the other side and you see the wonderful Maritime Alps.

À Nice il ne faut surtout pas rater l'atterrissage, sinon c'est direct fin de course dans la méditerranée, mais j'adore cet aéroport, le décollage est fabuleux avec la vue sur la ville et en hiver en arrière plan les montagnes enneigées c'est magique. Super vidéo 😎

Belle approche et landing en 04 :) Et oui, NCE est un aéroport sur l'eau, entre mer et montage, ce qui complique l'approche avec les montagnes et obstacles, sans oublier les vents.. Et une approche encore plus spectaculaire en procédure 22 . Excellente vidéo :)

Strange how depth perception can deceive you. When the airbus first came into view, it appeared it would overfly the airport. Nice video. Great view.

From the video angle, it looks to be the shortest runway in the world. The runway looks to be 5 feet long.

J'ai eu la grande chance de vivre à Nice. Et je peux affirmer que c'est un des plus beaux endroits pour observer l'atterrissage des avions. Lorsque le vent vient de l'Ouest les avions atterrissent côté Baie des Anges. Alors il suffit de choisir un banc sur la Promenade des Anglais et le spectacle est garanti!

The very fact that you can't hear a jumbo 4 engine aircraft landing and going on reverse thrust is a testimony to the distance of the aircraft from the filming point and the power of the telephoto lens; also gives you an idea of the length of the runway . Could have done with the sound though.

Nice Côte d'Azur international airport runways The airport has two runways and two helipads. The first runway (04L/22R) is 2,570m-long and paved with bituminous and concrete. The second runway (04R/22L) is 2,960m-long and is also surfaced with bitumen and concrete.

The layout is unique, Normally It use the long side in the takeoff / landing direction, but it was impossible to reclaim the land.

Magnifique vidéo qui me rappelle les moments où j'etais guide à l'observatoire de Nice... vue plongeante sur la promenade des anglais et l'aéroport au loin. Peut on en savoir plus sur l'appareil de prise de vue : camera vidéo ou réflex numérique ? Belle journée sans trop de turbulences vu la distance. Suis épaté par l'aplomb des trolls qui prétendent que ce n'est pas l'aéroport de Nice... heureusement que la bêtise ne tue pas !

C'est une caméra vidéo d'un seul tenant, j'ai le modèle juste en dessous (FDR-AX 33 Sony). La principale différence reste que la FDR-AX 53 zoome davantage.
