Who does it better? The UK Vs. France in a van life battle of the Aires. BOTH park ups are great for the channel crossing (before or after).
We sleep overnight in the New Dover Canterbury Aire before travelling through the Euro Tunnel to try out one of the newest Aires in Amiens France. But which is better? You can decide.
This week we also have some classic van life troubles as one thing, that has been fine for years by the way, decides to eject itself inside the bus. Thankfully a quick mcguyver moment from Rich should see us through until we can do a proper fix when we are back at base.
We've a new challenge, to try out cheaper places to park our van conversion in the UK and Europe in 2024. As a family with a bus conversion we rarely wild camp, we like a spot for ourselves but do want options - so trying out aires and other stops this year will be essential to us. Especially for travelling days.
We first check out the Canterbury Aire, which is on the same site as the New Dover Park and Ride. We arrive late, and after a little settling in and fixing of an en-route breakage, showcase what its like at this UK park up that is conveniently close for the Dover ferry and euro tunnel crossings at Folkestone.
After making our way through the channel tunnel in our motorhome we seek out a French Aire and find ourselves at one that was opened in 2023. The Camping Des Cygnes aire is about half way between Calais and Paris, about 1.5 hours in our van from the tunnel, making it an ideal stopping off point.
Places visited in this weeks vlog:
New Dover Canterbury Motorhome Aire
Camping Des Cygnes Aire just outside Amiens

As mentioned if you have any other park up suggestions do let us know, or even new places in the UK that we could try. We (and we bet other viewers) would appreciate it.
Thanks so much for watching, we hope to share more of our van travels with you soon.
