I remember having this catalogue. I was interested in the air force markings along the top of the aircraft model pages and what I did was go through them systematically and try to find the countries on my globe.

I learned a lot of aircraft types thanks to these catalogues. Strangely, over 50 yrs later I still remember most of them, and which models I builded back then as well. Sadly I didn´t do a great job. I was 10-12 yrs old when I build those. None remain, and that´s a shame, for I would surely have them restored now.

Just watched it so the model I've got ( airfix -72) focke wolf 189 ) pattern no. 267 So I must have been about 4-6 year's old and I remember it !

nostalgie du passé ! airfix en son temps , cela faisait rêver , nous étions jeunes et pleins d'espérance d'un monde meilleur ! aujourd'hui la multiplication des produits prêts à l"emploi, telles les applications d'un i-phone qui ne font appel à aucun génie créatif,mais à du copié/collé sans âme , font que notre ferveur ne demeure que chez nous à 50ans et plus! un grand merci pour ces com back que j'apprécie savoureusement ! belle initiative ! bonnes vidéos ! cordialement ! jy

Love these old catalogue videos...shows what airfix used to be....on the 1 hand they are better now in terms of the qiality of the modern toolings and enginnering but on the other hand they are now but a shadow of what they once were in terms of the diversity of subjects that they just wont do for 1 reason or another.

@@MOS6510Models not that i would ever expect them to ever bring it out again but i would love it if they brought out the toy L1A1 S.L.R. rifle....always wanted that as a kid but never found it

@@MOS6510Models its not a total loss as when i enlisted in the Irish defence forces i got to "play" with the real thing...the Belgian FN F.A.L. which the L1A1 is based on and i have an airsoft version of the DSA 58 which is an american licienced short barrled version of the F.A.L.

Wow! That brought back memories. I think that was THE first Airfix Catalogue I bought back in the day. I certainly built most of them, some of them more than once. My interests were varied. The ones I miss strangely are the 3 liners I had. The S.S. France, The Canberra and the Mauretania. I built the Hercules, which was HUGE!! Also a lot of the airliners including Concord and the 747 in BOAC livery.

Hello, great to see the catalogue again. I noticed that the front cover featured the moon landing module, but I didn't see it listed in the catalogue. Was there any pages were missing or did I miss it. Thanks for sharing.

I built the HMS Daring, (dreadful radar assembly) H.M.S Hood and Bismark were quite good.

I built one of the aircraft carriers around 1980 - not sure if it wasn't HMS Ark Royal with Sea Venoms or Sea Vixens on deck

@@MOS6510Models 2 shillings was 10p nowadays. When I started building in 1972, they were about 15p for a Series 1 kit (baggie).
