I purchased this little 3-channel helicopter on eBay back in April 2020. I paid $12.98 plus tax; shipping was free. The seller was shipping it from China, so it got delayed due to the pandemic. After five months, it finally arrived.
It was a gift for my younger son, who likes RC helicopters more than RC airplanes. My intention was getting him trained on this 3-channel helicopter and let him practice and develop his skills, before moving him onto 4-channel helicopters.
In this review, you will find out that this helicopter is not a good platform for training, because its controls are very imprecise and non-proportional, although its box boasts "digital proportional". The throttle (left stick) is proportional, but the right stick (move forward/backward, rotate right/left) acts like on/off switches, full-on or full-off. This in turn makes controlling this helicopter very difficult.
In addition, the controller is infrared (light) based, not 2.4GHz (radio frequency), hence the response of the helicopter to control inputs is delayed.
It may be an OK present to a kid, who will play with it for a while and either end up breaking it or put it in a box with all other toys and forget about it. Our recommendation is that you pay a little more and get a nice, coaxial 4-channel helicopter with 2.4GHz remote.
