We were lucky enough to have Rick (Shooter1721) come out and spend some time with us! We set up a new FX Impact MKII and took him out shooting at one of our favorite spots and it did not disappoint.
We witnessed some of the longest recorded airgun shots ever (out to 265 yards)! The Fx Impact is taking airgunning to another level.

@@tgardner866 Heavier lead to buck the wind better at long range. But the .22 slugs are doing a terrific job at bucking the wind at long range, but they are expensive.

I MEAN IM AT THE SAME CROSSROADS, MANY .25 AND .30 CAL AIR GUNS OUT THERE, BUT THE LONGER SHOTS ARE BEING DONE WITH .22 CAL SLUGS, AND BECAUSE OF PRICE IM WONDERING SHOULD I GET A .25, WILL IT PERFORM AS GOOD AS THE .22 CAL SLUGS? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS?

@@zapz2101 I think the .22 slugs have less wind drift and would be better for long range. (that being said with no experience with using them) But .25 heavies buck the wind reasonably well and are good out to 100 yards and are more affordable currently than the .22 slugs. That's just an opinion though.

Very impressive Ive just ordered a FAC .25 Impact plus .30 barrel , we have to have fac Air rifles on a fire arms certificate in the uk . My thought were get the .25 for the longer stuff with slugs ? but you are doing those ranges with .22 ?. Impacts mk2 are not easy to come by over here to :-(. Thanks for the video some cracking shots .

Mark Smejkal all we did was a heavier hammer to exceed speeds with 30 grain slugs over 950 FPS but ended up not necessary for the speeds that worked best

Who'd a thunk just a year ago you could be that consistently accurate past 100yds. Just WOW!!! I'm also curious as to what upgrade you had to do to the brand new MKII to shoot the slugs at 940+ fps. I need to know if I can order the parts from you or have you add the parts when I order my gun. Thanks guys!

To shoot .25 or .22 slugs at those distances does the impact need the mk2 upgrades? Also what is the shot count difference between these shooting slugs?

Ashes Dust not all guns need the upgrades but the shout count is maybe 10% less with slugs

Outstanding accuracy , love them long distance shots awsome #1721 having fun , NSA HOLLOW POINT SLUGS are killers I use them 36 gr 25cal very accurate at long distances

Henry Moreland I am using a Troy Hammer costume built Kral puncher mega senthetic 25cal , pushing a 36gr NSA at 940 FPS 100 yards quarter size groups depending on weather I only get 10 hi power shots per fill and and starts dropping fast , it my jackrabbit gun and long range pest control , I live in South texas

Nice shooting, my Nielsen 36gr slugs looked like garbage i was really disappointed. The flat back was not flat and vary deformed not good for 78$ box of ammo. Makes it hard to order from him again.

A % of my hunting would be in woodland,where the shorter the better. FX state 745mm/30 inch (29 1/2 inch) for the Impact, I will assume that's the 500mm barrel, 600mm 34inch, 700mm 38 inch. 38 would be too long for me. thanks.@@tropicthunderbolt

We were dialed up for some longer shots prior. So when that one popped up Rick took the shot as fast as he could and held under due to where we were dialed.

Werner Herrmann heavier hammer weight and bigger valve, plenum. The mk2 only had the extra hammer weight but wasn’t really necessary.

Using my rudimentary math I calculate Justins set up would get him around 40 shots with a standard 480cc bottle, that's quite a drop from the Claimed 100 shots a standard .25 Impact should deliver (shooting 25g pellets). Now how to calculate how that would transfer to the Mk11. This air gunning is a school day everyday. Thanks for the entertainment gentlemen.

You're right. This set up has two 580cc Bottles. So it's getting about 100 shots.

so IF (big IF as I am not too clever) 75ftlb needed to throw a .25 36grain slug at 950 fps and you get 40 shots 75ftlb needed to throw a .30 ?grain pellet @ 870 fps for the same 40 shots ( FX figures ) so can we say the .25 shooting slugs is the more efficient system?.

That is true for the most part. They are better for further distances.

OK, whatever. We want FACTS not FLUFF. you need to make a video on setup, the whats and the why's and the needed or not needed. is the Ernest upgrade needed for .25cal? i have the original POS 500mm impact, and only after 4 service trips around the country in a year and a half does it function decent now. i'd like to try slugs, but until some data proof is made avail why should anyone TRUST a few guys who are sponsored by FX.
