"Three Black men sued American Airlines in federal court Wednesday, claiming they were victims of “blatant and egregious race discrimination” after employees ordered them and five other Black men off a plane in January.
Airline representatives told the men, who were traveling from Phoenix to New York, to return to the gate to be rebooked, according to the lawsuit. An employee eventually told them the reason: Someone on the plane had complained about body odor.
When they first were told to leave the plane, the plaintiffs were “annoyed and frustrated that they were getting bumped” and would probably get home late, attorney Michael Kirkpatrick said. Then they realized that all the booted passengers were Black men."

I haven’t travel with American Airline in over 20yrs because I asked the attendant for some sugar and she drop it on the floor and instead of getting me some more she just walked off ! I did called her back ! This is embarrassing and a huge inconvenience, but in a way I wish it was me. I'm sure there will be a decent settlement. Claiming that all 7 or 8 men smelled unreasonable but then allow them to re-board the flight. If there was a smell that was strong enough to justify being pulled off the plane then why would it be Ok on the following flight, it doesn't make sense.

The point you missed is that these 8 men were singled out and there was no proof that any of them were the cause of the "stinky" smell. None of them knew each other, they were randomly singled out from their seats throughout the aircraft and one guy hadn't even got on the plane yet but was kicked off as he was coming down the ramp. It could have been a smell coming from the bathroom, a baby on the plane, the 300 lbs white guy sitting in first class sweating his balls off, heck it could have even been there from the previous flight If there even was a smell to begin with. because airlines don't really clean and sanitize the way they should since the COVID restrictions have loosened. Half of these men were on a previous flight before this one and had no issue. anyone regardless of race being accused of something without proof is bad enough. but singling out 8 black men with no proof and kicking them off the plane, just to embarrass them before putting them back on the same plane is disgusting. Even a lawyer on the plane and multiple passengers stuck up for them and said the flight attendant was wrong. And this is not American airlines first time doing this. They just did this to a Judge recently. So instead of throwing your mixed-race kids up in someone's face to make it clear you're not racist or you don't see racism in this situation, take beat and know you're not the only person with mix race children and using them as a crutch to be willfully ignorant will only make them resent you when they are older. Especially since your safety against odors is a priority over racist behavior that will affect them. *Have a blessed day*

Not everyone follows every story out there. And in some locales, the number of airlines flying in to the place ya gotta go is limited. My first ever flight was as a child. I remember the puddle-jumper airplane that got me to my final destination. I was worried by all the rusty, holey metal in the engine cowling. Now, nearly 40 years later, I realize that the airplane was in no way flightworthy. Ignorance can be bliss.

@@jhgreen14 I'm just saying that sometimes you have no choice. My mum was dying. I was forced to fly out to her pretty much on a moment's notice. Because they felt she could go at any moment, I couldn't wait for the best flight. I had to take what I could get. And I got one of those tiny regional jets, crammed in like sardines for normal folks, and at the time I was pushing 400 lbs. I was distraught as I boarded. The airplane was full, I got the seat on standby, so I wouldn't be sitting by myself. Luckily the guy I sat next to was one of the worlds blessed, a kind person who understood that I had no choice. When he knew my mission, he distracted me the whole way with light-hearted conversation and allowed me to feel less stressed. You can't always pick and choose. But If and when I can, I certainly won't be flying on AA if there is any way to avoid it.

I don’t fly with them anymore, we took a family vacation and there was a young mother with twins and a double stroller. There were 4 American Airlines employees standing there and didn’t try to help her. My husband a retired army veteran stepped in to help and he was told he couldn’t board because they took too long. Myself and our youngest had begun to board and my husband was put on another flight 3 hours later and the lady with the twins 😡. And we sat on the runway for about 45 minutes before takeoff. I never flew again with American Airlines. I watched the video and it seemed that most of the passengers who were pulled out didn’t even know each other. I hope they win.

I complained the woman in charge came at me like I did something wrong. For about two weeks the whyte boss continued to make me feel uncomfortable and I quit!! I filed a complaint with Civil rights department and other teacher and workers witnessed what happened and wrote statements. I hope something will be done about the situation. I don’t look at them the same. I don’t want to be around them and I don’t trust them!!! They not like us!!!!!!

No, they don't have to be like us. But we have to give them some "straightening" about who they are! And let them know, black people don't want to comb our hair like yt people.
