Air-portable tank destroyers and light tanks are easily recognizable. Their size is a dead giveaway: they are usually exceptionally tiny when compared to their conventional counterparts. It’s no surprise: when you’re designing a vehicle that is supposed to be transported by air, there are very severe size and weight constraints. Don’t let these cute, almost toy-like vehicles fool you, though: they mean business.

Rhain Bow The T114 was meant to be airdroppable, but due to unsuccessful tests of the vehicle as a TD, it was converted to a troop carrier

I see 2ways for it to work, either give the tanks an airspawn or make it them a bomb load option for some planes and give them a deploy cooldown like “replacing” all crew before it becomes operational so it can’t drop right in the enemies face and has to wait a couple seconds after landing encouraging a more paratrooper playstyle like they were intended to.

On the other side a clean penetration on the shield hull breaks the vehicle, while you cant hull break an AZU57 that easily

So your lightly armored vehicle can get torn to shreds by SPAA while it helplessly floats to the ground? Air dropping tanks into combat in WT is fundamentally flawed as these vehicles were not meant to be hot-dropped right into the middle of a battle and would be extremely vulnerable while drifting helplessly through the air. Not to mention how certain systems and components could be heavily damaged once the vehicle lands.

@@bluntcabbage6042 airborne vehicles, especially the Locust and Tetrarch weren't dropped, they were also carried by gliders. The gliders would land near the battlefield and drop off their load. This might be useful on some maps, but on most, it would most likely be useless, if you already can just drive fast either way.

anywhere on your own half of the battlefield or choose the place where you'd like to drop. but to balance it, at least use some kind of animation for it or even a player controlled aircraft delivering his very own vehicle

Spencer Harrod i think they won't because BMD series is just the same as the BMP in terms of firepower, BMD-1 use BMP-1 guns, BMD-2 use BMP-2 guns, and more. So basically, BMD is just a BMP but it can be dropped from a transporter.

Adding the negative makes the negative degrees of gun depression a double negative so the that becomes the 15 degrees of elevation, you can say negative 15 degrees of elevation and that would be correct

@Preposterous Altercation Depression is for looking *DOWN*, elevation is for *UP*, it would make sense if you say -15 degrees or +15 degrees because depression is - and elevation is +. Saying "-15 depression" will just double it but it won't if you say it like "depression angle of -15 degrees" and the same thing with +.

Near every tank is air portable. What you mean is air droppable, tanks you've listed could be dropped via parachute. You can't para drop M1, though you can transport it via Galaxy.

Correction: the actual projectile diameter is 105mm. They called 106 as to avoid suggesting to troops that the ammo was interchangeable with the earlier M27 105mm recoilless rifle.

The asu-57 was made to be a fast anti tank gun, in the early war of operation barbarossa soviet used 57mm guns as their anti tank guns

my favorite moment with the M56 was on japan. I climbed one of the narrow hills around C and protected it. An enemy tank came, looked at me and at that moment I shot him and yeeted myself off the hill into cover.

just wondering when are u guys going to improve the aesthetics of the ai controlled ships in air battles especially carriers as they look ugly.(as the aaa guns on them are just 5 hovering rectangles), and also add features such as catapult and rocket assisted take off gear for aircraft who had them? (one to mention would be the sea hawk).

The Aircraft carriers already have catapults, they launch you automatically when you raise the throttle if you get reloaded/repaired while on an carrier. and there are planes with rocket-assisted takeoffs already too, IL28 gets that. I think the Tu-14T does as well.

@@sydney4814 Tu-14. Tu-4 is slightly modified clone of B-29 build as part of long bomber Tu-64 program instead of Tu-64 itself. And we have Arado 234 that has neither its breaking parachute, nor its rocket booster that it had irl(nor a fixed rear MG-151 it had). As a result, it can't take off with bombs from short airstrips. And in ARB most strips are still of that variety. Have "fun". All those modules are already ingame.

Soviet Post-war Airmobile "tanks" ASU-57 and ASU-85 were intended as an Assault gun, nothing more nothing less. It did what it was originally intended as; air-portable fire support vehicle for VDV troop support, not anti-tank vehicle. Anti-tank role is the vehicle's secondary duty... that if they can position themselves to do such role :v

The Type 16 maneuver combat vehicle (MCV) equips designated combat units. Due to its light weight and small size, it is designed for easy deployment (by aircraft if needed)

I have no idea how it could be implemented properly, but it would be cool if these tanks could have a special spawn to let them air drop into the battlefield. Maybe have special spawn points just for them? Ability to drop on to caps? Idk. It would just be awesome to see tanks raining from the sky lol.

Air dropping tanks into combat in WT is fundamentally flawed as these vehicles were not meant to be hot-dropped right into the middle of a battle and would be extremely vulnerable while drifting helplessly through the air. Not to mention how certain systems and components could be heavily damaged once the vehicle lands. Allowing them to spawn on caps would be extremely broken. Just letting an ASU-57 or T92 spawn in behind the entire enemy team (if they pushed past the caps) would just allow the T92 to get a bunch of unfair kills.

Will there ever be a piper cub in the game? I recently heard about bazooka Charlie and his anti tank piper cub and would love to see something like that as a premium or the Bücker Bü 181 with 8 Panzerfaust as a Low Tier Attacker.

Yay, my favourite tank (the Tetrarch) was mentioned :) Would be nice if it had its unique way of steering. Or if there was a version with the Littlejohn adaptor.

The Tetrarch is my savior i used it at br 6,7 and 7.0 for a while and managed to get kills (but very few) on a few tanks like the Centauro and other light tanks

If you get enough points in RB you should be able to spawn in a cargo plane and fly over the battlefiend and drop yourself into battle.
