Exactly, taking the ecosystem out of the equation the AirPods max are still fantastic headphones with the best transparency mode I’ve come across, but in the ecosystem there’s nothing even close to what they offer.

Glad you caught them early enough to where you’re not really impacted. 👍🏽 I’d appreciate it if you could share the video with as many people as you can so others out there don’t get scammed by sellers in this way.

I recently bought a pair on ebay for just around 300, and I'm first fear was that the seller might have sold me a pair of fakes, they haven't arrived yet so I'm not sure but I fear they may be at that price, as a backup plan I just went and ordered a pair off amazon as they're an official partner/reseller with apple, luckily I think ebay has a pretty good money back guarantee so I'll be heavily judging the pair I got and if anything looks off I'll try to return it, if they're real then I got lucky but I believe if something is too good to be true then it usually is

@notoriousalien they were fake and I think the guy who didn't want any issues so he refunded me literally right after I reported an issue with them, I didn't even need to get Ebay involved tbh. But just another reason to know that if something seems too good to he true it usually is. Anyway i still got it from amazon a little under retail directly from apple so that's something I guess On another note if I hadn't watched any of these types of videos I wouldn't have known they were fake but its something I always tend to do when I'm buying something I check out research to know how it should be look feel sound etc

If you have the volume cranked high it’ll obviously overpower your surrounding but set about half it should be manageable. Depends how loud they’re speaking. But compared to ANC or just off settings there’s a big difference. I’m of course referring to the genuine items, the clones stopped working long ago.

That particular one isn’t listed anymore so just do a search for them, plenty of other replicas about now if that’s what you want.

They are but the ones I’ve seen aren’t very good quality, not sure if they’ve improved as I did get sent some replicas around the launch time so maybe they’ve improved their quality by now

Nobody should be buying clones on 2023, you’re just throwing your money away, either buy a different brand or save up as AirPods Max 2 will be coming very soon.

These were very early clones (quite old video) but I’ve been told the newer ones are even more convincing visually.

There’s no manual process for firmware update on AirPods anyway is there? Much easier to just listen to them as the difference is obvious.

I’m pretty sure I have a pair of these clones. They do show a serial number that checks out as valid on the apple validation site.

They usually use a clone serial number in my experience

No, as mentioned many times AliExpress links always change as soon as the seller has sold their stock so no point listing a link, just search for AirPods Max 1:1 That being said if you watch the video you’ll see I don’t recommend clones especially now that you can usually find the original on sale quite often anyway.

Update on the headphones? Gave them to my son and not sure how much he used them since. iOS 16 should show these up as non genuine now however.

It was very similar to original but you can just tell it’s not the same standard as Apple. Bare in mind a lot of the replicas now (video is over a year old) will have probably updated their packaging depending on how much you’re paying as I’ve seen replicas range from £20-300.

On the box or settings? It does have serials listed but I’ve never checked to see if they show up or not, I doubt they would.

What I mean is they’ll have a number but it most likely won’t be verified on the apple website, all genuine items can be verified on apples website via their serial number.
