I have the same issue, it seems to be a larger population of people with this issue. I wonder if a lawsuit will start for this.

I have had this issue for a while and I contacted Apple about 2 years ago, however, they would not replace them because I couldn't verify the exact date I got them. I knew it was before Oct. 2020 but I couldn't find the receipt to prove it. So for now I just turn off any of the noise cancelling and use them as is. When I do replace, most likely it won't be with Airpods.

Mine are experiencing the same issue. Just called Apple. Because it is out of the three year window by about 5 months, they wanted to me to pay $247.00 for the repairs. I can buy a new 2nd gen for cheaper. Please fix this Apple!

I’ve read that turning off noise cancellations fixes this static issues. At least for AirPod Pro-1 that I have and it did solve the issue. I did all the multiple methods none worked except turning off noise cancellation. It makes no sense because that’s the highlight feature of these AirPods.

had the issue with my airpods, apple documented the issue and refused to do anything even after 20 visits, our econimics department has over 1000 complaints of apple refusing to honor the warranty in 3 of the largest official stores in the middle east. In USA or UK apple with fix instantly. I have a pair of airpod pro 2 as well and i can tell you after 1 week, yes when Noise cancelation is on and you move the bud, you hear static like a electrical static sound.

Yes, I have the same, exactly as described. Random crackling noise on "cancellation" and "transparency" settings. I can't replace them so the only option is to buy a new pair... But will that really guarantee anything?

For me whenever in a blue moon the issue arises in my Apple AirPods Pro, nothing works to fix it other than time. Turning any setting off for mine never works, lol.

I am having the same issue, its only 1.3 years since I bought the product and my call quality on mic is terrible, people often complain and then I take the airPods off and use the phone directly for calls. At this time I am really disappointed with Apple.

I had this issue come up and just tried to replace them, but they said my serial number did not qualify even though it was made during the same time period that the recall was for. I don't think I will buy another one, especially if the issue hasn't been fixed in the newer models.

It happened to me too, it is freakin' annoying..... I replaced the right side three months after i bought it late 2020. after a year, the left side had its turn to give static and crackling sound. Had few toughts to buy the new airpods pro 3rd gen or airpods 3rd gen, but i figure it is time to move to different tws brand like audio technica or sony

Here’s what I think is happening: they know the AirPods have a design defect that causes this after a given length of time (I went through 2 pairs of Pros already). They’ve instructed employees to just replace them if under warranty and deny replacements if not under warranty (I had my second pair denied but the first pair was covered). And they just wait out the warranties. I think the problem stems from ANC, transparency, or special audio being turned on. The more you use that, the faster it seems to break the AirPods and you get the dreaded crackling/blown AirPod sound. IMO I think ALL AirPods Pro have this defect and it’s just a matter of time and how you use them before the issue presents (sort of like joycon drift on the Switch controllers-all controllers WILL exhibit drift, but it’s just a matter of how hard you push the joycons before it happens). I think Apple is trying to avoid a class-action lawsuit by being quiet on the matter but it really soured me to their entire headphone line. Apparently the Beats earbuds have the same problem.

I can relate like many on here. However, my problem went much deeper as I replaced the phone 3×2 sets of earbuds four sets of LG neck bands and still connectivity problems. Even switched my service provider. Nothing seems to work.

I had same issues. I been tried all the methods which shared by others in KZfaq, blog, page, non of it able to fixed my AirPod pro. The best part was these problem came out right after 3 days after END OF WARRANTY period. What can do? #Apple

I have this same issue with my 2019 AirPod pros. I also just discovered that when I tried the Ear Tip Test it somehow sensed noise even though I was in a totally quiet room. What’s the point in spending the extra money on buds that don’t cancel noise. I won’t be buying AirPods again unless they can fix this issue.

I have 2 pairs - one I bought on vacation after 6 months. Both have same issue as you and everyone here. Both static in left ear that I have to tap or move and sometimes will stop for a minute to 5 minutes and start again. It’s driving me crazy but I don’t want to spend more money with Apple when 2/2 airpod pros do not work and they have told me they are both outside of the warranty although mine are within the recall.

swear its something to do with the ear tips, put the pods in your ears without the silicone tips on and the crackling when touching noise doesn’t happen

Yes. Same issue with my air pod pro gen 2. The crackling sound appear if i switch to noise cancellation mode. I have tried all diy method to solve the issue but its never solved. So frustrated with this air pod pro.

It happens to me after i change to a large size tip. After some fiddling, i found out that the tip causes it. Might be related to how the NC software detects ear fit leaks. As my airpods constantly shakes when im riding a bus, i noticed that the cracking syncs to the road bumps. Have you tried removing the tip? It removes the crackling. However it is not the solution we wanted

Yeah so mines was a week out of warranty and the crap about being made before a certain date. Come on Apple I mean Apple you know it’s a issue but you tell me so sorry you have to buy the right ear or you can update is this a set up they work for a certain amount of time then on upgrade to AirPod Pro 2 I’m so disappointed so either I pay $89 for the right ear or upgrade I have tried all the tricks update cleaned them nothing. We all have this issue it’s a know issue but nothing.

Thanks for the vid. I've had the same issue and didn't even know that there was a free replacement program. Fortunately for me, I only paid $60 when I bought a macbook laptop. I don't think they are worth $250 lol. Btw I've tried some of the DIY fixes and none worked.

my left one has those crackling sounds like 3-5 times and I have to tap on the left AirPod a little bit to get rid of it, but its so annoying sometimes on a warm day the issue seems not to be so often, on cold days its more there all the time.. I didn't know about the 3 years guarantee so mine is expired and I have to deal with this everyday couple times.... shiiii

I sent mine back to Apple and after getting em back my left ear STILL had a chirping sound just like it did before sending them back to them!!

Clean em with rubbing alcohol, then blow them with an airline. I’ve done this after dropping them down the toilet. It fixed mine. Good luck.

Mine Air Pods Pro 2 has same issue. Sound quality is great but having this random glitch makes me throw them to trash bit. BTW authorised repair provider does not find any issues during diagnostics. Shameful product
