This is the other " wooden wonder" as Oxford was built from wood unlike Anson that had metal tube frame fuselage. Great many engines from wartime Oxfords found their second life in flying replicas of WW1 planes and various home built civilian aircraft. Some are still flying.

Surprised it didn't mention the Oxford's use on anti- submarine patrols or as a light bomber during the 1941 Iraqi revolt.The civil version was the Airspeed Consul .

Why do you show footage of the Avro Anson in this video? The Gipsy Major was a 6 cylinder engine not 8 cylinder. The Oxford was originally designed for a Wolsley radial engine but when this was cancelled alternatives had to be found, in the 300-400 HP bracket. The Gipsy Major would have been markedly insufficient so I don't believe it was ever used. Check your sources!

@@lchaverri2230 It's likely AI scripting and text to voice. The giveaways are where the voice says "raff" instead of R.A.F. Also sayin M. K. 1 instead of mark-1
