Say Goodbye to the Air Filter Unit Bug - Escape from Tarkov

For several wipes now, the Air Filter bug has lingered in the background. While the bug did benefit players, it was a symbol to several players of long standing bugs that never seem to be addressed.
The bug is now fixed though, for the most part. A display bug still exists, but it has no meaningful effect on the game.

@@Jemme95 It was a little while ago but when you put the air filter into the air filtering unit you weren't allowed to take it out like it is now. So if you put it in it would get used over the next 18 real life hours as opposed to now that you can take it out and only use it for in raid time.

Tested this myself offline with a 50m sprint on Interchange. To test this, I entered overweight, then using a range finder found an object on the highway which was 50m away (preferably a flat surface that will stop you going further than 50m). Once ready, I just dropped my bag, which put me underweight again and then sprinted at the target object and recorded my new Endurance skill points. Doing this gained me precisely 2.2 points of Endurance both with and without an air filter installed. Doing the same test for Strength is more annoying, but requires crawling around the map whilst overweight (you don't gain Strength whilst prone). Standing from prone does however give you Strength and in my case, sometimes took me to 46 skill points from 45.9, sometimes it did not. In the cases where it did not I simply went prone again, repositioned (because the action of getting up from prone moves you away from the target by about 1 metre) and stood up again, which always put me at 46. Because of this, I tested at two different distances to ensure that I was not hitting the DR cap. Starting at 46 skill points I gained exactly 3.7 points of Strength @ 50m and 1.4 points @ 25m regardless of the filter being installed. In conclusion from my own testing, either a) the filter doesn't work offline in any fashion or b) this video is incorrect. Basically, test it for yourself, because I did not see the same results as advertised and the Air Filtering Unit is 100% still bugged (at least offline) for me. Edit: explained how I tested it and added my findings for Strength also.

Are flea markets separate for each server or something? In my flea market the FP-100 was selling for 160-170k easy, i was crafting them as soon as i hit the required lavatory, it was pretty profitable. Not so much right now with expensive water filters, but still. And i haven't seen fp-100s going for 97k like you showed.

Just hauled two FP filters out of reserve, was 68kg in total(had a blue fuel tank as well) it was a slow walk but manageable.

can bsg "fix" that on autoselect in lavratory crafts like mag case dont take full fuel tank and leave empty? i again this wipe after long time doing that craft didnt notice that and you know i wasted full fuel :D

i just finished building air unit. Tested before installing air unit, before putting fillter, and after installing fillter: In every case i went from 57.1 to 63.0 points endurance full stamina, running straight, online on woods same spawn, then i left raid.

I just tried now,running for 10 seconds with the filter and then 10 seconds without it. In both cases, 2.4 endurance points increased.

@@Airwingmarine Ok I tried from 50 meters and the result is the same. Sometimes it's even more without a filter. I have tried several times with one stamina bar, and the result is also the same or sometimes even more without a filter. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I never got a clear answer that the inserted filter is better. (I tried offline.)

Hey Wing - great content. Thanks a lot for all of it. However please adress the key issue we are all facing a this stage - cheaters. Since 0.13 the cheaters are overwhelming. And nothing is happening - I don't mind bugs as all players have the same conditions. As a key content creater put some pressure on BSG that they finally adress this topic as they are clearly MILES behind other games.

Well sorry to heart that. Through all 4 wipes I have played I was killed on average 27% by head shots. Since the start of this wipe I got killed 57% !!! by head shots. And I'm not the only one experiencing this. So I am surprised that you dont think there are more cheaters around. Ask in your community if head kills have dramatically increased and lets see what the answers are.

@@gerdaufdenblatten6461 There are countless things that go into why someone dies. Simply looking at one parameter (deaths to headshots) while ignoring all others is not conclusive nor educational. There are cheaters, there have been cheaters, there will be cheaters for the foreseeable future. There are no more cheaters now than in previous wipes based on my experience. I also see countless clips shared in my discord of 'cheating' that are very quickly explained by more experienced players. I believe 'cheating' is VASTLY over reported, which leads to the cycle we are in where people feel overwhelmed by cheaters. You also implicitly accuse BSG of not doing enough to fight cheating, which is also categorically incorrect.

@@Airwingmarine - well since BSG is not very forthcoming with "getting killed" statitics (or kill cameras) it's the only conclusive data I have. And it is clearly - sorry even if you say it non conclusive - a statitical abnormity. But anyway - all I think is more transparancy would help as clearly you as creator and we as fair players want the game to continue to be a sucess.

This video was made during BSG's testing of extreme strength reductions. You could not go into raid underweight without extreme effort and limited kits. Most folks who played didn't start leveling endurance until they reached max strength or very close.

So glad you're in this community. I'm so tired of all the negativity from other Tarkov creators. It gets old. We know the game has bugs and is weird and frustrating sometimes. But we are lucky to have you as a Tarkov creator. This is my first wipe and your videos have been tremendously helpful.
