NTA… Just because she’s pregnant doesn’t condone her being abusive towards you. She’s been continuously hurled insults at you throughout the pregnancy and each time you’re trying to still do sweet things for her she tells you what your doing wrong even though it’s out of the kindness of your heart. Then gaslit you when you asked her to stop emotionally hurting you that literally caused you to cry. And for the cherry on top of this chaos she physically assaulted you with a frying pan and lied after so could try to get out of trouble. Stupid bs excuse of her pregnancy be dammed! NO ONE SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT ABUSE ANYONE! PERIOD. PREGNANCY IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR ABUSE!

The whole 'give her a chance cause the pregnancy made her lash out' thing is like... even if you accept that as the extent of it, why would he then invite her back in while she's STILL PREGNANT? Even if you take their argument entirely on their own terms, it's full of stupid.

I hate seeing a man or woman in this position. If this happens you always need to contact police to at LEAST document it. There’s some situations in which they’ll ask you if you want to press charges and sometimes it not up to the victim.

Most people focus on the physical battery here, but what about the absolute hell she put him through emotionally as well? This isn't someone who loves OP. This is someone who is using OP. OP deserves better. A lot better.

Luckily there’s plenty of Redditors who have been pregnant who have reassured OP that this behavior is not normal of a pregnant woman and he doesn’t have to deal with it. Plenty of people have been pushing OP to go to the police and press charges, and OP may be considering it since he would need the police report to pursue full custody.

Nah i get that pregnancy messes with your hormones and does lead to mood swings or stuff like that, but it doesn't make you hit people with blunt objects. Definetly NTA, ask for split custody 50/50 and get her tf out of your life, actually, if you can get more than 50% custody, even full, go for it, i don't think a child would be safe in a house with someone capable of such violent behaviour.

I don't know however to me op is NTA Hitting op is not anything to be excused for what if the next time she uses a Gun or Nail gun in her next psychotic episode? She's not safe to be around but i guess these arw the true Aitah questions one should ask for opinions and how to proceed forward

Hormones can actually really screw someone up. And, it probably is just a phase. Though I advise only having one kid if she is like this during pregnancy.

Okay, i think people need to rewatch this, this is an ESH: she's an absolute bitch for the way she was treating him, BUT he put his hands on her first, before she hit him. He escalated things to physical violence
