Cause my heart is loving, loving, loving every second when I'm with him! Check out Megami33's newest cover from Urusei Yatsura OP [2022], "Aiue!" :D
Whoo first cover of the New Year & it was a doozy! This was another top voted one by ya Moonies back in the Fall Season, but things got a bit hectic with VO, etc. It was quite tricky to write despite it being a romantic song. The perspective are switched a bit between Lum and Ataru [if ya familar with the show]. Not to mention all the inside jokes lol Like there's only so much you can do with a translation, but I hope you enjoyed my version of it. :)

Thanks for your patience Moonies & peeps! First cover of the year & boy was it a doozy! Been rewatching the classics as well as this new version of Urusei Yatsura & gotta say, they did it justice! Wait... this is legit what this song means?! That makes this (literal) Dream of an OP even more cool. It's like Ataru is inner struggling with his feelings, so he has this Dream Lum sing out both as the stand in to Real Lum (and everything he hates about her) and a mouthpiece to his inner loving feelings towards her.

I’m amazed that the person behind Inuyasha and Yashahime was also behind Urusei Yatsura. You can feel the familiar romance trope of her style but the concept of the story is so different, that it’s like another shade of color that makes up Rumiko Takahashi

There is also Ranma 1/2 which is almost like a halfway point between Urusei Yatsura and Inuyasha Almost but not quite

@@Vansjoo7966 Ranma gets more fighting oriented but still comedy, then InuYasha gets darker with the fighting and story, I forget if Mermaid saga was before or after Inuyasha

I love her work. Urusei Yatsura is my favorite of all anime. Please go watch Kimagure Orange Road. You'll get a similar atmosphere to Inuyasha, UY, and Ranma 1/2. It's not as popular, but it's actually really good.

@@rogers.5 Mermaid Saga was before Inuyasha in 1984. Remember Rumiko Takahashi was also doing Maison Ikkoku at the same time that Urusei Yatsura was going on.

@@rogers.5 Mermaid Saga was even darker, & a shorter mini-series, but she was experimenting & diving deeper into the macabre aspects of Japanese mythology. Then she explored with Inuyasha but softened it since it was a serial.

I hope people have requested this suggestion, but how about the opening to Tomo-chan is a girl? When I learned the artist who sings the theme was Maharajan; i blew up but lately I'm finding his songs so far to hard slappers especially the opening. People really don't get how Urusei Yatsura was that instrumental in the manga and anime culture. Hell Lum was supposed to be a side character, but she was so popular the editors forced Rumiko Takahashi to put her in as a main character. Still if you haven't seen the original anime and watched any of the original movies. Do it. Especially Beautiful Dreamer that was done by the creator of Ghost in the Shell.
