As a IU fan, it is important to praise others who cover the song and even better. It is form of respect to IU. Shannon really sang this song great and her high note was better and more powerful than IU’s one. But honestly, both of them have different vocal. For Shannon, she has a powerful vocal and good technique to sing high notes easily. For IU, she has soft and soothing vocal. IU is more suitable on singing the ballad , R&B and jazz songs. I will still prefer IU one because I am getting used to her voice, and will never get tired listening her songs. I feel that IU was just wanted to test how high she can sing only, cos almost all other songs are just chill and ballad

The technique shannon uses to reach high notes is healthy, I also really like IU but sometimes I get nervous when she does high notes because her voice sounds fragile it could pop any moment /lh /j I wish both would collab

You know why because the fan base of Korea is mostly females. She pretty but the outfit is so wrong if you noticed usually fans idolize them to follow the style in fashion that's why it hard market her in the Kpop industry. And c'mon we knew Koreans only support someone who come from their country , mixed race would be hard if you know what I mean.

Poor kid. Shannon is the proof that looks and vocals doesn't guarantee you success in Kpop. She's pretty, she's young, and her vocal is better than most Kpop idols there ( only Ailee and Hyorin is better than her. ). But still she is struggling so much under MBK

Her visuals would be great in Japan but she doesn't know Japanese.... maybe she just needs to go into the right market? When Hong Jinyoung moved into trot, at first people doubted her but now she's repeatedly booked because older people love her. This market is full, she needs to breakout into other things in the meantime. maybe co-host radio? even hiphop? Weddings???? educational driving videos? It really wouldn't hurt to explore while she's young and pick up skills and experiences that will help her standout in the future. It's tough competition out there, unfortunately she's not the only pretty and talented girl around. Y_Y

For me, shannon should've changed label. It seems she was disregarded with her current label and her talent is wasted. I rather have her in Rainbowbridge Ent. (RBW) where Mamamoo belongs because I love how that company cherishes their artists. Even CEO DO Hoon is very hands on on them and let them do their own choreo and compose some of their songs. I think that will boost Shannon's potential as an artist in S. Korea

OMG That's a good suggestion! I love RBW's management with Mamamoo, and VRomance is doing good so far with the reception as well. I really hope she considers changing to RBW since I haven't seen any solo artists from them.

aspidiske you're right! Her company hasn't been doing anything to promote her. Of course they would prioritize their top earning groups and I just want them to treat their rookies fairly. Dani's debut since before is a mess, she's been in different groups but did not fairly gained a permanent debut.That just proves that MBK and its subsidiaries did not plan thoroughly how to compete with other labels. At least in RBW, she will feel free to compose her own songs and choreo. The CEO is also kind to his groups so I am sure Shannon will do good in there.

Totally agree, RBW will give her more freedom to make her own music (even collab with other labels' artists)and improve herself at the same time. BTW, eSNa is under RBW too, I think she is one of solo artists in RBW now, not sure if any other exist. (She wrote the collab with MAMAMOO "Ahh-oop")

gosh i want to cry like it's been so long since i last heard this song... but not really. i mean, look at the expressions of the people. it has been two years since they last saw it in live. iu's voice is not the same as before. it became more feminine and it matured so it will be hard for her to belt these notes again. gosh. so proud of you shannon! ㅠㅠ

dont get me wrong i love iu and she hits the night so good in good day but to me it feels like shannon is more comfortable with the note, and it doesnt look like she is struggling at all.

First of all, The 3 high notes are sung using mixed voice by both IU and Shannon, not chest voice or head voice. Shannon was using heady mix. Since E5 is the end of Shannon's supported mixed range, she resolved to use heady mix to ascend to the F5 and F#5 to reduce the strain in her voice. IU used chesty mix to sing the 3 high notes, but the notes are all strained and throaty, since IU's supported range ends at A4/Bb4. So the final conclusion is Shannon sang it better than IU.

yes shannon requires more training you can tell she dance kinda awkwardly, she just needs more training and she can sing that's for sure, because it seems like she hits the high notes effortlessly.

Xavier Tsu I wasn't talking about her dancing at all. Just her singing alone. She's got a great voice and yes she can hit high notes effortlessly. But it's not as solid as IU's and being able to emote at well is not as refined as IU. This is because she lacks experience not talent. She will in time become a star I have no doubt.

Why her voice sounds so similar with IU's? If she didn't appear on stage and the video got no title at all. I'd definitely think it's IU. I like her voice better with english songs like Listen that she also sang in this program. Her voice sounds deeper and better
