Fun fact: Gin's Bankai name hints towards his betrayal of Aizen. His Shikai "Shinso" means "god spear". His bankai, "Kami shini no yari" means "God killing spear", which refers to his attempt on Aizen's life. Even more interestingly, in the manga, these run of chapters were called "Deicide", as in the act of killing a god.

I nice detail I didn't notice for the longest time is that Gin still had his Bankai active from his fight with Ichigo (Ichigo even brings attention to the fact that just because he shrunk his sword doesn't mean he's ended his Bankai), Gin didn't use his Bankai against Ichigo because he needed it, he used it so he would have it ready to use against Aizen. Also Gin's Bankai translates to "God killing spear" which is another hint about his true intentions with Aizen. Gin touching Aizen's sword made him immune to its effects, which is crazy because that means that he somehow avoided ever being put under its effect in the first place (probably why his eyes were closed all the time lol)

Gin simply wanted to avenge the hurt that was done to Rangiku by Aizen. It had to be done with surprise, too. If Gin told anyone about Aizen, they would have confronted him, and Aizen would escape. Gin wanted to make sure there was no escape.

Ichigo in the late story does not use the mask is not because he can’t, it is because there is no need. Hollow power is part of his power and his later state has combined power together, you can think it as he always at Mask buff state. well ya u can still say Gin's motivations were selfish bc it was for only 1 individual & that's Rangiku ofc, avenging her & getting back that part of her soul that was gouged out by Aizen. the bleach novels cover a lil more on this but ya. Rangiku has amnesia of that event to her in the past so she never knew Gin was trying to retrieve part of her soul back that was fed to the hogyouku

Aizen mentioned that he gouged out the souls of Rukon residents with latent Soul Reaper powers and gave them to his Hogyoku in an attempt to awaken it. Rangiku was one of those people (that's the scene where Gin found her on the ground after Aizen's men took a part of her soul). Gin was likely going to try and take back the portion of Rangiku's soul that Aizen took from the Hogyoku. Gin in general is just an interesting character for how little screentime he had. He was speaking to Ichigo in code throughout their whole fight, trying to get him to understand that he was the only person able to sense Aizen's powers and the implications of that feat. One of the big points of discussion in the community when this chapter first came out was whether or not Gin was a "good" person. He went out of his way to torment Rukia in the Soul Society even when no one was watching, slaughtered hundreds of Rukon residents, and seemingly enjoyed bisecting Hiyori. A lot of this may have been to remain undercover, but he was doing all of that for a "good" reason (getting back what Rangiku had taken from her), however selfish it may be. He's a very grey character.

Aizen stole a piece of Rangikus soul, and fused it with the hogyoku along with 1000 of peoples souls That is why poor Rangiku cant reach bankai status or get stronger than lieutenant, Gin tried to retrieve a part of her soul from it

fun fact aizen literally states he ws going to die the fear of death the fact he woulda have died if it wasn't for the hogyoku evolving him he would for sure of died from gin so by all rights he did it just he evolved

So the reason why Gin had to wait so long to attack Aizen was because it wasn't until Yamamoto grabbed Aizen's sword that he learned that was how to see through the illusion. Then you see the rest play out not long after in soul society.

Ichigo's mask actually limited his powers. It's sorta counter-intuitive, but he always had his hollow power, and his mask appeared when he started using it, only to indicate the percentage of his powers he still had sealed. This is why his mask felt heavy when he put it on after the Ulquiora fight, as his hollow was already 100% active and putting the mask on actually restrained him somewhat.
