I'm brazilian, a week ago, I found your videos on youtube, I love the way you teach, I can read English subtitles, but I still can't understand English spoken, every day I watch your videos by reading the subtitles in English, one day I want to understand all what you say, without having to read subtitles Thanks, you are an excellent teacher

Oh, hello fellow Brazilian :) I found Effortless English four days ago, and I'm still surprised that I don't need subtitles to understand him... I really had no idea that my listing skills were that good. I recommend you ESL Podcast on ITunes, and watch massive content in english here on KZfaq, and forget about the subtitles, just listen. After you try ur hard to understand, then turn the subtitles on :) Surround yourself with English. I wish you success :)

Awesome as always! I've been using your method for many years now, and I love it. I had bought your lessons when I first heard about your 7 Rules for Excellent English in 2014. I've learned so much from those lessons. All your lessons are meaningful and powerful. I can listen to them every day. The lessons are not just to learning English, but they are also help me defined myself. You are my number 1 English teacher. Thanks for being a great teacher!

A. J, had I met you years before I went to Canada, my life would have made a major detour. I made years of conscious effort to modify my foreign accent while I was in Canada but still could not reach the level I was comfortable enough to convince my stay in the country for good. I love Canada and this is one place closes to my heart I want to call it home so badly, ironically at the same time I feel I did not belong to there. Reason being, I hate the feeling of lack of confidence in communicating with other Canadians and knowing well I would not be part of the community due to the lousy heavy accent English. Never a second I would have thought that bad English would cost me so much : genuine friendships, job opportunities, happiness and a new life in a new home. Bad command in English has become my biggest defeat and ultimate hurdle in life. After listening to your audio books and other of yours valuable materials, I kinda realizing I may not be on the right track all these years pursuing my passion to converse in proper American Accent. I tried to pick up everything (grammars, accent, pronunciation, phases, conjugation, words linkage, idioms, listening etc..) all at the same time. Apparently I have no focus, no idea what comes as priority. I got everything jumbled up eventually and caused myself tremendous stress. The phase "English trauma" you mentioned, I resonate it so well. Ya, indeed it is an emotional trauma. Don't know why, I have confidence that I will end all years of my American English trauma by following your methods and most importantly my dream to settle in Canada revives. I remember my first time of experience British english :) That was hard to overcome. It took months of listening to at least to be able to understand people when they're talking not too fast. Girls at EngVid like Jade for a quick example. After that I've moved to The Graham Norton Show which by the way I watch since then :)

I think there is a confusion here. A perfect pronunciation is not related to American or British accent. I can have a brilliant pronunciation, but keeping an accent of a typical Brazilian, French, Spanish or Italian who speaks English.
