Laurel_xo Adam's actually REALLY educated in law and stuff. I saw them at the Grammy Museum and he said he's currently trying to get his phd. Don't remember what for exactly.

Because he knew they ripped off Bellion, and did it intentionally. They needed to slightly modify it so they wouldn't get sued, but also needed to steal his sound as closely as possible, so they could put out a "good" song.

I honestly do think that AJRs music is timeless. The emotions in their music are so strong that I doubt they'll die overtime, even if the subject matter become less relevant in the further. This band is amazing

OKAY OKAY FOR EVERYONE WHO THINKS THAT IT’S WEIRD THAT BOTH JON BELLION AND AJR HAVE OVERTURES!!!!! Bea Miller has a thing that is like an overture too. Alan Walker has one too for an intro to another song. Now there are four. It’s a thing. It’s cool. It has been done since years ago in orchestras and it has always been called Overture. The thing is AJR called it an Overture, Jon an outro, Bea Miller a mashup and Alan Walker didn't really name it

I love these beautiful humans so much! when I first got into AJR, it was because I loved 'Bang!' and I decided to look into them more, and found 'The Click', and I went in hard! they are now my absolute favorite artist! I hope to see them in May! I have memorized all 4 studio albums of theirs and all the singles, and the EPs, and I'm working on the early stuff from 2010! I am their biggest fan, I am their Melody! Love ya boys! (also that was a reference to 'OK Overture' :) also this interview came out on my 10th b-day!

This is excellent, I heard AJR's Netflix Trip the first time and was reminded of Jon Bellion's Human. It was short but it was enough that I wanted to relisten to Human. It's cooler that Jon Bellion and AJR are two of my top 4 favourite artists.

It's sad. It highlights how much of a rip off they are of Jon Bellion. Their Netflix song is an EXACT rip off of Human. Plus all the stolen audio bits, plus the stolen art work style.

Linquistic I just listened to the whole album and ive listened to Jon for years now and love them both. But you cant honestly say that you dont see the blatant similarities. Rip off may be a strong word, VERY strong influence definitely. But you can take almost any AJR song from this album and it could be a Jon Bellion song. The album art is the same style. The songs are the same style, even same structure in some cases, similar sounds used, same "in the pocket" style, and the singer even has the same vocal style as Jon, even down to the way he pronounces some things. The only main difference i see is the heavy rap influences in Jon's music. But even Jon can be accused of that in relation to J Dilla in some cases. But you cant argue its similarities. Cheers.

just by the way you referred to their song as "Their Netflix song" I can tell you never bothered to listened to Netflix Trip in it's entirety and what the song is about Netflix Trip is a song about how AJR grew up with the show "the office" Human as you probably know is a song about being tired of many things about being human Your ignorance is one thing, but to outright say things that are just not true is where you should just stop

i clicked because i read jon bellion and i never heard of AJR before or the fact that there was an "accusation of plagiarism". but the fac that their creating prosses is so similar to his made me want to listen their albums. realy cool guys and something tells me that their albums are realy good, looking forward to listen to them. ps: "fishes can see, i guess" - zach sang, the voice of a generation. lol love you zach. you're my fav radio hots, head to head with elvis duran. not kidding.

I feel like it’s the delivery that really differentiate between Jon Bellion and AJR because AJR have truth and stories - they take their ideas and give each song a specific story to tell that even in its uniqueness can be applied to a broad audience. They have a sound that can’t be described but that’s really _full_ I think right cause Jon used sounds and concepts that creates more variety and relies on the depth of the lyrics more idk

Because Charlie has explained and shown us how he created attention from scratch, hence not really plagiarism as the original bassline and guillotines aren't the same. They have the same type of bass guitar, however different riffs.

I don’t know who’s bitching that they “stole” Jon Bellion’s music/musical attributes but they gotta stop. I actually enjoy that their style and Jon Bellion’s styles are similar. Both AJR and Jon Bellion brought a new genre/sound to pop and it’s refreshing to see the two sides. Both of these artists are great and it’d be so amazing to see them work together.
