akai midimix - ableton hack for dub

the akai midimix is used frequently for dub
ableton live official script for midimix uses 1 pot for pan and 2 pots for send/return fx
in dub we usually want to forget the pan pot and use it for an extra send/return fx
so i built a script which uses the 3 pots for send/return fx
perfect for dub!!!
easy to install and same functionality as the official ableton script
it's free and MAC and Windows compatible
just follow us and DM me if you want it
dub it!!!
by the way this is just a dirty demo using original record we done covering Consider Me track from the Skatalites big up!!!

That, that right there is what im tryin to do i got ableton 11, midimix, ive downloaded some stems, i get the stem in the track on ableton, i can see my midimix manipulate the controls on screen so i know its working, itll show the stem playing in the track but nothing thru my speakers

Hi, how do I get the script? My akai is awesome, bit the arm record buttons don't work in studio one, so I can play live, but not record it. Any thoughts?

My experience in ableton live is the following: when you map Akai Midimix buttons/faders to DAW-devices' buttons/faders, LEDs don't work. When you use this or the official ableton remote script LEDs work seamlessly, because there's no manual mapping applied. Don't know if it's the same behavior in Studio One, but suppose it is, because it has to do with the difference between script and manual mapping. For more info follow us on IG: @bichobolarecords

How are you able to use two midimix at once? For me I just end up automating two parameters with one knob :(

That's because the your 2 midimix have the same cc preconfiguered. you can change cc values with the midimix editor from akai.

Can't you just remap the MIDI control? Live makes that super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Yes of course, but you'll need to map manually 3x8=24 knobs (maybe 3x16=48 knobs if you use two Akai midimix as I do!) and besides an inconvenience, mapping 48 knobs manually (in my experience) is prone to error.

Mapping them manually allows for far greater customisation/ choice. And besides, there are only more then 2 sends with the full version of Live, whereas Live Lite and Standard are sadly restricted to two sends.

It's OK! everyone chooses whatever works better for himself, I am not trying to sell you something as my script is FREE... as everyone's choice to use it or not. As every thing in life, if you think it's useless don't use it. The script also supports manual mapping for customization. And remember, it's all about sharing my work with the community.

For the MIDImix to work you need at least a DAW: Ableton, Fruitty Loops, Logic... there's plenty of them.
