FYI, as of today's date, 01/13/2023, DrumSynth 500 DOES NOT run on Mac OS12 Monterrey. It'll just crash.

when I tried opening the Drumsynth 500 application, I got a Fatal Error Message "A fatal wrapper bootstrap error happened. This software cannot be loaded. Please contact the software publisher for support using this software." How can I fix this?

this a true story, I correctly installed the update, Moving stuff around in my studio, Mac book Pro falls, now im waiting on a new activation from apple I guess. I love my MPC X, its truly the Truth, I Use Logic Pro X, So Im a D.A.W/keyboard midi type of work flow yah know, hybrid producer, So yeah I need that software program asap, Made some smashers just a couple hours ago. AKAI MPC IS THE BEST!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for the video Sir. 🫡💯💯💯💯

I was good with everything until I got to about 6:43 in video and I had issues. Started working with Preferences. Hit pads no sound. I have a Line 6 Audio TonePort Audio Interface. Will have to look at it again tomorrow. Midi Stuff can be frustrating. I own the Akai MPK Mini II and Arturia Mini Lap MK II and just bought this Akia MPD218. When you had me do the Program key and hit pad 5 not sure it worked and was not able to map QLinks Either.

whenever I press any pads on my MPD218, it makes noise, but it doesn't register in the software that im pressing any buttons. Because of this I can't add any samples to other banks, I also can't cut shorts or sample anything. I have to do press everything on the computer keyboard for it to register. What can I do about this?

I did all of that in my mac but it doesn't sound it does turn on its lights but when i opened the menu with comand+, i can see that the input only have the option built in microphone it supposed to have the akai optical as an input device

I was able to get my mpd218 to work great. now my problem is I have my background beat recorded but when I go to make another part of the beat with my mpd218 it wont save to the same project. it will play at the same time live but i cant get it to save the notes as im playing it live. Any suggestions?

hi! It sounds like you may be using a new track, instead of a new sequence? In any case, you'll want to get more familiar with the MPC Beats software and workflow. I follow this video exactly as explained to install my MPC Beats and Drumsynth500 on Windows 11. When I click on the desktop's shortcut for the Drumsynth500, all I get is a prompt box reading ERROR, ''No ASIO output device found.'' I should be getting the program open, with the next step being the ACTIVATION PRODUCT KEY. This is my second attempt after completely uninstalling DS500 from the system and starting the installation back again. No problem running MPC beats. Just with DS500. What am I doing wrong? Please, help!

Hi! That just means you need to assign an audio output for the software to use. Watch at around 16:50 for instructions on opening the menu where you can choose your audio output. Also, if the software isn't asking for a product key, that will mean it's already been activated.

@@inMusicBrandsSupport I have the same problem, but I think you misunderstood the problem. The error ''No ASIO output device found'' occurs when we want to start up DS500. So we can't open the menu to choose audio output, because we can't open DS500 at all. I hope you can help!

I need an alternative to the synth500 because the software for some reason just won't load on my PC and every time I contact air they sat they're sending me an email that never show's up! I can only get one1 out of the two2 programs and that's the beats. I've been trying to get Synth500 for a week. it's just a dead end for all my efforts.

I just purchased my MPD218 a week and a half ago and have had nothing but problems... Pad 8 and 12 always trigger simultaneously, no matter which one i touch or how gently. I also cant get any of my VSTs to map to it properly, such as NI Battery 4. No matter what I do the pads are always mapped incorrectly, but with my other midi instrument I have no issues. Am I doing something wrong or is this just broken?? very frustrating.

When I try to load sounds into Bank B (after selecting bank B on MPD218 and in MPC Beats) it overwrites the sounds in Bank A instead, and bank B stays empty. The same goes for bank C. What should I do?

Hello! This is normal. An MPC program encompasses all of the pad banks, so dragging a new program onto the pads will replace the content assigned to all of the pads across all of the pad banks. To combine multiple programs, you can drag individual samples onto open pads on any bank.

Hi there! Yes, you can record & edit samples from a turntable with MPC Beats and then click & drag the audio file onto any of the pads on a drum track, instantly being able to trigger said sample with the corresponding MPD218 pad. This also applies to any audio files you have stored in your computer's file system.

Hey! If you read the pdf "Drumsynth 500 Manual", page 6 describes "Drumsynth 500 requires an ASIO Device Driver to run properly on Windows machines. Most audio IO devices support this automatically. If you do not have an audio IO device connected to your computer you can use a virtual ASIO device driver. The most popular one is called ASIO4All and is available for free download on the internet." I never receive the download link in the email and I have tried a couple of different email address that are both working. YES, I checked the spam folder and I've given it plenty of time. one of the emails is a gmail address. Why not just provide the download link directly since you have all of our details by the time we get to the link anyways. This is frustrating and it's the first time I am having a brand experience with your company and it is wasting a lot of time needlessly. The amount of times you bounce a customer around is ridiculous. Then they have to work hard just to get the basic software that comes with the hardware they purchased. Does nobody think these things through?

Hi Terence! The process for downloading the MPD218's included software has been updated since the publishing of this video-instead of receiving an email with a download link, the links for the installers are found in your inMusic account. Simply navigate to the Product Registrations page in your inMusic account, click on "View Downloads" next to your MPD218, and under "Software downloads", click on MPC BEATS and DRUM SYNTH 500 to expand their menus, and click the appropriate download links for your operating system. Hope this helps!

I just got my MPD218 brand new and had been searching for the downloads for the Big Bang Universal Drums and percussion VSTIs but never found them. Do you guys no longer provide those plugins to your MPD2 buyers?

Hi! Thanks for asking. Big Bang Drums is no longer provided with the MPD218. New MPD218 users will now receive AIR Drum Synth 500 in their accounts after registering the product.

Hi there - as of MPC 2.11, the MIDI input mode previously known as "MASTER" is now titled "GLOBAL". Per the 2.11 release notes: "All instances in the MPC that refer to the 'Master' are now referred to as 'GLOBAL' or”'MAIN'."

Hey there! That means you need to click the gear icon in Drumsynth and manually select the ASIO device in the Audio Output Device dropdown menu. If you don't have an ASIO device available in that menu, choose "Windows Audio" as your device instead. Drumsynth500 is not worth distributing. Included software related to MPD218 can be better. The MPC Beats download procedure as described in this video has never worked. You can find posts on Kvr from 2020 saying it's not working, and it's still like that in July 2022. The only way I've ever obtained an MPC Beats download link is through an M-Audio software manager. I have an MPD218 which involves registering as this video describes, but I have to use M-audio product registrations to get MPC Beats.

Impressive how Akai can do the best controllers and the worst environment, how it can make so hard to even install the editor to the hardware controller. These long videos sucks as they policy, that threats anyone as a thief. "Register everything you're doing and give us your blood" . I´ve lost the will of playing after so many registrations and waste of time I just wanna use what I paid for. But I will hardly recommend anyone to consider this pain in the ass you caused.
