Ok - yeah the red is nice… But other than that and WI-FI/Bluetooth - which could have been accomplished for $20 with a USB hub / WiFi’s module. 16gb storage is a joke… this and all MPCs ought to have 256gb minimum built it. The “new processor” is a straight up lie. It is the same processor across then entire line right now… I mean the $699 price point really ought to be like $499. AKAI really needs to look at the new PUSH 3 and think about what they should / could do better. In short - this will not be taking my money.

At last. This looks like a great instrument. Never before has a product made such an impression on me. Revolution! Turn. Starting from the shape, unprecedented solutions, to efficiency and this color. You know, red cars are the fastest. It's the same with production - on red beat machines production is much faster. I think this is a milestone in the music world, comparable to the discovery of the steam engine 300 years ago.

Akai is leaving the door wide open for Abelton and Native Instruments imho. Just with the Push3 having MPE alone is enough to "push" customers to Ableton. If NI drops the right standalone at this moment in time, with Akai disappointing its customers with bugs at launch and its focus on color way roll outs, it could gain a huge share of the market! Imagine an NI Roger Linn tribute edition harnessing modern technology like workflow, MPE, and yes superior sound out of the box, that would reset the bar as far as professional stand alone hardware! This is about culture step up or step off! The ball is in your court and changing the color of the ball ain't going to make it bounce any better.

I feel like you knew when filming this it was going to be bad. Virtually nothing new that really has an impact other than WIFI. The sounds are not a thing I think anyone asked for because we live in a sample-based music era and that was the least of the worries. I wanna like MPC, I really do, but what I am hearing from MPC owners and fans is that it looks like something other than care for the people that use Akai with the last few releases. I have an MPC one and enjoy it, didn't even know that Akai was working on a new one, but what is shown here is not enough to make me purchase it. Suggestions: 1 8 audio outs, 2 the ability to drag an effect from a place in the order to another, 3 the ability to drag and drop from the computer directly into the unit without having to use the card, 4 proper meters maybe on master bus so we can eq properly

Agreed, but in all likelihood they were trying to keep the product in the same box as the original and hence the PCB's had to stay within certain constraints and guessing they couldn't add more address lines on the PCB's without bumping up the PCB size... which then wouldn't have fit. Soooooo.... while I too would have loved it I think they did what they could.

Good Stuff! But I have a question that was not mentioned is when you are on song mode playing sequences can they be mapped via midi with external midi controller to switch between them?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater Жыл бұрын
Hi, Fernando! Thanks for your interest. That’s a great question, actually - I own an MPC One myself and I haven’t tried mapping the sequences in Song Mode to an external controller. Reviewing Akai’s documentation, though, it looks like the answer is no. The MIDI Learn feature can be used for mixer parameters, pad parameters for drum or clip programs, program parameters, or insert effects parameters. Depending on what you’re trying to do, you might be able to use clip programs instead of Song Mode to achieve similar results. Clip programs work similarly to Live Sets in Ableton Live and can be used to switch between multiple parts of a musical composition. I hope this helps a bit - feel free to contact me directly with further questions, and thanks again! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com

@@sweetwater Thank you for answer that’s a shame that MPC doesn’t allow to map sequences by midi controller which obligates you to press them on the screen or build them on the sequencer and them in linear mode… 😔 I tried to sent you a email but for reason says invalid email 🙄! Anyway you say that instead mapping the scenes in song mode you can map clips. So a clip can be a sequence of several instruments and can be understood like intro, verse, chorus etc? And if so when you trigger the clip he will schedule to start till previous end and so on or he change immediately? I want to use a midi foot controller because I play guitar so my hands are not free! Thank you 🙏

@@fernandodias112 Hi Fernando, thanks for the reply. Clip programs on the MPC allow you to work with loops, separated into mute groups, which can be triggered from the MPC’s pads or from an external controller. Typically, they’ll be divided into four columns of four clips each across the 16 pads of the MPC. For example, you could have a column for drums, one for bass, one for keys, and one for rhythm guitar, separated into rows for verse 1, chorus, verse 2, and bridge. Like I said, the workflow is similar to the Session View in Ableton Live - not sure if you are familiar with that. I did some more digging through Akai’s documentation and user forums, and I also checked my personal MPC when I got home from work yesterday to see if I could assign a MIDI control to change the sequence in Song Mode. I didn’t have any luck, although it does look like some users have been able to customize the MIDI Learn file - if you’re handy with coding, that might be a workaround, but it’s not officially endorsed by Akai. I hope this helps a bit - sorry you had trouble with the email. Feel free to try again - it’s caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com. Thanks again! 6:27 Listen up Folks. You can make songs 3 different ways with MPC. 1. You can make your sequence the entire song length. Say if you need 80 bars. Then go in to delete the midi date per section. 2. Build Sequences per section of the song. Intro Verse Chorus Outro 3. You can Wav out each midi track to cut and arrange your Wav Exports

I tried connecting my MPC One Plus to my Bluetooth Speaker to the headphone Jack with my stereo mini Auxiliary cable & it didn’t work but yet it works on the regular black MPC One which doesn’t have Bluetooth or WiFi. If you have successfully connected a Bluetooth speaker to your MPC Plus can you please…let me know exactly how you did it?

Does it do linear sequencing like DAW and old school Roland Fantom X linear sequencing?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 4 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for your interest! The short answer is yes, you’re able to do linear sequencing on the current generation of MPC’s. However, the workflow is quite unique and different from what you’ll find on most DAWs. I would describe it as a hybrid between linear and pattern-based sequencing. I’ve owned an MPC One for several years, and it definitely took some getting used to, but it’s a really powerful composition and production tool! My typical approach is to start with a series of patterns for each section of a composition, then use the Song feature to turn those patterns into one long sequence for further overdubs/edits. Hope this helps a bit - feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com

I get why Akai are trying to sell Fabric XL and all the other packs, but it's kinda weird. Sure they want to keep tapping you for money, but the MPC is a sampler. So you can just do the work and sample everything you need. And the Fabric XL stuff is all set up to catch your ear with each sound being loaded with effects. Which gives you work. You have to take all that junk off to make the sounds useable in a mix. So you may as well sample and get the sound right from the beginning. If you sample you don't need better specs than the first gen MPC Live/X/One. Plenty capable. It's only the Fabric XL stuff that bogs down that hardware. Bogs it down with junk you don't need. Boils down to your mondset. If you understand the MPC as a sampler which you have to fill up with your own conent to make your own music, and you are willing to put time and effort in, you are golden. If you think it is what Akai are now pushing in terms of all the extras they want to sell you, then you may be disappointed. The magic beans ain't growing into anything special.

Nobody is “tapping” you for anything. This childlike logic is getting old. You can get a MPC and do with it as you choose. The choice is yours. In case you’re not perceptive enough to pick it up, MPCs are more than samplers. They sequence, control, and allow to compose.

There's nothing new going on here! I hope ppl DONT buy this, so Akai could maybe think about improving the quality of their hardware! 700 bucks for a rehashed groovebox machine stuck to a wall is pretty ridiculous when a computer and a controller offers much more around that price. Buying this used is probably the way to go

That was Numark not Akai. The real Japanese Akai Professional doesn't exist anymore. They have been out of business since the early 2000s while Numark purchased the assets and the Akai brand name. What you are buying today are mass produced products by Numark/InMusic with the Akai brand stamped on them that has nothing to do with the real Akai company of the 90s that Roger Linn worked for. Jack O'Donnell the owner of Numark/InMusic is the person to blame for all of this. Roger even called him a basterd.

Hey yall, So my brother is a MPC2000 producer str8 out the mid 90's. Ive written and recorded countless tracks to beats he made on his original Mpc over my lifetime. So the Mpc was always there with me. But now i produce myself, so this is the very first time ive seeing the Mpc workflow. And no wonder he made such dope beats and i struggle to sequence and complete tracks using linear daws. Please tell me Why oh WHY is the midi controller pads like Mpd and MPC Beats software it comes with NOWHERE NEAR as intuitive or as easy and fun as this beautiful process i see on this video? I was excited to use the Mpd211 and MPC beats, when my brother bought it for me as a B-day gift, but in no time i gave up cuz its a total mess! Even as a plugin to a DAW its confusing and essentially unusable. I wont use the term workflow when describing them, because i find neither work, nor flow is achievable. So my MPD most often sits on a shelf as a cheap novelty item. Pads that i cant even custom program sounds to. Ive tried many many times and fail cursing every time. I'd rather learn to code and build my own software than navigate MPC Beats along with MPD Editor. MPD Editor?? Just why?? Why cant MPC Beats be a software version of the MPC? We need an affordable Akai software OF Mpc, BY Akai Mpc to pair with the affordable Akai midi controller pads. Dont just phone it in guys! I believe in you Akai! Keep up the good work, cuz this MPC One+ console is dope! ~Josh R. P.S. Apologies if i missed a release or remake, i gave up on MPC Beats a not long after its release.
