When he said B737 offers the best range in the class, bruh a320 too offers similar range and you have the option to go for a321 xlr that can give you nonstop flights to Istanbul or Hong Kong. It is just that Airbus won't deliver you aircraft at least till 2030 and they aren't even cheap given the demand. A220 was also a good option for Akasa if they are more domestic-focused.

It is rather simple: Airbus is sold out for about a decade, since (i) there currently is a very strong market demand for mid sized airliners, and (ii) Airbus has in many aspects the far superior product. Airbus on the one hand tries to expand its manufacturing capacities while on the other try to use its tiny margin of available (becoming available) production slots to entice TOP STRATEGIC customers. But those top strategic customers are in particular those where major widebody orders are at stake. Insofar Turkish Airlines, Air India, DELTA and now UNITED can be considered "top strategic", while sadly Akasa can't. The remaining purchase option for THAT outfit therefore is to go with Boeing (nobody would opt for Russia anymore). The remaining task for the poor Akasa CEO then is to explain the world why the 737 MAX is that great. "It has the superior range ..." Yeah, that claim can convince ...!
