yes, i was looking to get a v50x, or maybe spend more on a sjcam sj8 pro. but when i saw the brave 7 le.. i was waiting for its review to come up and hoped this wouod be good.. and it is good. thanks for the review.

I’m starting with the EK-7000 for now, but I will move up to the more advanced models! I have DSLR’s (Canon & Olympus) and a camcorder, but this is my first action camera and I can’t wait to receive it and take it for a spin! Hi Greg, Really appreciate your honest and impartial reviews. I'm looking to purchase a couple of Akaso cameras for sea fishing videos (fixed tripod and chest cam). I'm interested in the EK7000 and the Brave 7 LE. Can you advise on the best replacement batteries for both? A typical night session could be 5 hours so I will need probably 5 of each battery. Hey Cruisn I purchased the Akao V50x on your recommendation and it's been a great Camera. Looking at adding a second camera and am considering the Brave 7 LE . Use the V50x mainly for off road Motorcycling so the 4k 30fps and the image stabilization of the V50x is most important. Aside from the obvious addition of the waterproofing re there any other upgrades/downgrades from the V50x to the Brave 7 LE? Thanks!

video wise it works great on the bike, but since it has no external mic support its no good for audio. Its the only real downfall of this camera. Would have been such a great little camera if they would have included mic support!

I ordered mine the day they removed the "Pre-Order" label and am really looking forward to it. Please do put that test up with the V50 microphone, I'm going to start Motor-logging and that would be a great addition. Good video, well done.

I had one for 3 days and sent it back. I went through all the settings to see if it held up to me doing my usual videos and it went back for a full refund. I've had an Osmo Action for 3 days and love it. It will more than likely replace 2 GPH8B

That's unfortunate. I've had pretty much used all the current Akaso lineup and the only one that I had issues with was the V50 Elite. If you can afford a GoPro, OSMO or Insta360 style camera then you should do that, as they are definitely higher quality cameras. But if on a budget, for most, these do just fine. At least that's my experience.

Sadly this camera does not support an external mic. The new Brace 7 (non LE) will have external mic support. Hopefully coming out soon.

So ill get right to the point. Doesnt look like it has any external mic support. If you are looking at a camera for motovlogging then the Brave 6 Plus is the one from Akaso that I would recommend... For now.

If that’s the case you’re right mainly because the Brave 6 plus has the same stabilization firmware (2.0 6 axis) It is an a shame that Akaso did great job with the 7 LE but only went 90% of the way. An external mic option or input is a must if you ask me. Keep the rubber side down my friend

it really depends on if you are going to use this as an actual action cam. If so then get this, but if you are just wanting to use this like a standard camera, get a gimbal.

Nice review, thanks. For the price of this kit, the picture is wonderful. If you are an average user, this is a great buy. It is a joke how much the competitors charge. The mark up they do on these camera is unreal.

Spoke directly to Akaso and the Brave 7 LE does not have external mic support. I guess we will have to wait for a Brave 7 Plus. 😢

At this point if I were to buy only one I’d get the brave 6 plus. Has better stabilization and the external mic is better.

year later, i paid 139 on amazon. was going to get a gopro but want to do more research so i got this as a learning tool for vlogging and diving. I really thought it would have an external mic adapter because it had about everything else.. guess not.. that is a bummer. thanks for your review. made me feel better about my purchase.

Bit at 127 for the 7LE with the water housing and mounts, pricing didn't drop much over time. Adding it to the EK7000, which seemed to have some bugs in the firmware, and I could see the advantage for stabilization in walking scenery and underwater shots. For selfie shots it seems stabilization doesn't help.

Great review sir.. I had same review but an additional minor issue that you should watch before you decide to buy this action cam. May be it was an isolated case cause I didnt seen same issue from others.

No. Akaso has stated that the 7 LE has no external mic support. The Brave 7 is coming out soon and will have external mic support, so we are excited to get our hands on that one.

Hi i brought a AKASO brave 7 le the other day recorded a video which was about 5 minutes long and tried downloading it to my phone via AKASO go app but the download took about 13 minutes to finish? Is this normal, seems like a long time ? Plz help lol

Thanks for the comment. I dont believe that it has a webcam feature. So i would saw no. But I have not tested to be 100% sure.

Waiting for brave 7 review (without LE) before it is released. Almost bought LE, but can wait a little if it is worth (Akaso gave me -15%)

Thanks for the review! I visited their site via your link, but only saw options to purchase in the US and UK... I’m Canadian like you so I’m curious as to how to purchase? Amazon doesn’t offer this model on the Canadian site and the Amazon US won’t ship to Canada. Thanks again for your video. :)

Yeah as of now Amazon Canada does not have it. Spoke with Akaso and they are having problems getting the camera to amazon.ca. Fingers crossed that it ends up there soon.

Its still a great camera, only wait if you need external mic support. My guess is we will see that in an updated version. Or at least thats what im hoping for.

How do i view my video on a laptop or iphone? I’m new to these little cameras? Do i need to take the memory card out every time?

You can use the Akaso App on your smartphone to view the footage but on a computer you have to import from the SD card.

I loved your presentation and review, in point of fact it swayed me into buying, I'm a KZfaq content creator and was happy to buy this because I am looking for a second camera. Alas it appears there are no Amazon vendors whom both stock this and ship to Australia. Nonetheless I'm trying to source it from somewhere, did you find out if it's compatible with an external mic? As it's a wifi capable camera is it possible that a wifi mic works? Yours sincerely Paul Bourke

No. But they are releasing a Brave 7 soon. And that one will support external mics. Check out Akaso’s site for more info.

yup, no support. the Brave 7 (non LE) should be out soon and that will have external mic support.

From Akaso I would say the Brave 6 Plus. But the New Brave 7 (not LE) will be out soon. So that may be high on the list. But as of now id go with the Brave 6 Plus.
