So that is why I was feeling bad and sick whenever someone around me has pain and is full of sorrow. I didn't guard myself and I allways try to help people arround me with their pain and hurt. Boundaries have been something I have been learning to build, specifically because I can easily put up and impenetrable wall or have no wall at all sometimes. The energy is so strong at times that I will identify as even the strangers confiding in me and I’m now realising as I listen to this that perhaps my biggest fear about truly being myself is the exact thing I just finished living and not once realised it during-getting consumed by another’s emotions so much so that I become unrecognisable to myself. Literally becoming and living as that person. Truly, in my personal experience and opinion it seems like the saying “You are the sum total of those you surround yourself with” rings very true for empaths. It’s much along the lines of “you are what you eat” and as light beings exchanging light with others, Empaths definitely need to watch their intake.
