It sounds like you were a good friend to him also. And you are so right about friends, my husband always told our sons that if you could count on one hand your true friends you are the luckiest man in the 🌎 and always be a leader and not a follower. Scotty was always a stand up guy and a fantastic musician that was recognized all over the world. To me it was another great loss for Elvis all because of Parker. RIP Scotty I hope you and Elvis are back together again.

With out Scotty and Bill don't think Sam would have recorded That's All Right. There first demos Elvis was trying ballads which Sam didn't like. During a break Bill and Elvis sang That's all Right. Sam dug it recorded it . The rest his history. TCB Pat

Yes you are right Mr. Moore helped Elvis from the very start. Mr. More was reminding Sam Phillips more than once to call in Elvis to see what they can do together in the studio. Mr More used his wife's car to take three of them to do the initial tours to play gigs and start earing an income from their music. The last conversation between Mr More and Elvis was after the 68 Special when Elvis told him about the European Tour that he wanted to do which never did came about. This is telling me that the last time Elvis had personal contact with Mr. More was in 1968. From then on to Elvis's death he did not had any contact with Mr. More. This is what i am just understanding with this interview with Mr. More. I am a very huge fan of Elvis but, this is terrible. Elvis had completely forgotten a very important person who had help him when he had nothing.

@John D he's still one of the most influential musicians in the history of popular music, the only reason he wasn't a household name back then was because he wasn't interested in being famous just trying to support his family that's all.

@John D he's very famous amongst people who know there music history as well as with guitar players worldwide having played on about 20 million record sales I'd say that's hardly an unknown.

Chuck wrote some good songs, but his playing was rudimentary at best. Not in Scotty's league.

Rebecca Robbins And Elvis foolishly signed a contract that paid the Colonel Fifty percent of his earnings. That’s a ripoff! Most normal managers get twenty percent at most. So the Colonel took advantage of Elvis. And he got rid of Scotty, Bill Black and DJ Fontana the drummer. That was the original band! That was practically a crime to get rid of his original band. They only got back together once during the 68 Comeback Special. The Colonel was hated by almost everyone and rightly so. What a piece of Garbage! 🗑

Well, Colonel didn't drop them, but they DID quit for a bit but came back. Scotty opened the studio when Elvis was in the army. When Elvis was done in the army, Scotty and DJ went back with him for 8 plus more years.... in 1969, Elvis asked Scotty and DJ and the Jordanaires to all play as his group in Vegas for a month....they ALL said NO !-----as Elvis later said "They all had families by then and didn't want to leave home for a month. Same when i started touring, thet said they couldn't." Scotty told Elvis to get James Burton to form a band for him, and EP took Scotty's advice.

@@dynjarren7523 That is told in the press, but EP's friends in their books point out that Colonel got 50% ONLY on a FEW deals for merchandise.----Parker got a much lower 20% for EP's record money and the profits from concerts....Colonel said he earned the 20% because he devoted 100% of his effort to EP and had no other clients....that seems fair, since they both made HUGE sums of money
