One of my favorite AKG headphones the K712 PRO. Based off an identical frame but with a few accessories included like coiled/flat cables. Agree with Marquee regarding comfort and sound.

These are NOT the K702, I don't know why you said they are in the Video & Named the title 'K702'. If you had to compare them to anything they would be closer to K712 + the 65th Annie version. They share the drivers of the 65th Annie version with the +3db low end, And Earpads / Smooth headband of the k712. Also unfortunately the Massdrop k7xx version is made in China, Where the K701/Q701 Are made in Austria.

I've had these for years and love them, after moving up from a lower end AKG model. Originally got them for studio use but I do use them for everything else on the PC and they are fantastic. Genuinely can't recommend them enough. Glad you liked them!

The K7xx are not recolored K702s. They are Q701 + K712 Pads.

K702 is not K7XX... I know you'l find people saying the K7XX are rebranded K702 65th anniversary edition, but they're not.

These are not AKG K702 for sure. I own K702 and K7xx Massdrop and they are just different. K702 have bigger asymmetric pads, K7xx have symmetric gel pads for better bass. Drivers are different to, K702 sound more spacious but bright but lacking low bass. K7xx sound more neutral but with way better (quality) bass.

With proper amplification, they never sound boring. They have nice subbass and very articulate mids and highs. Much better for music than any other pair I have tried.

I really don't understand why you don't change the title to correctly display the name of the product. The headphone community is very stubborn and precise when it comes to their gear. Stating that these are the same headphone is factually incorrect. Even if they were "only" modded, it would still be a different product. Heck, the Mad Dogs are modded Fostex designs and are incredibly different. The K7xx does have physical and sonical differences to the K702. However, I think you are trying to simplify things to cater to the largest audience possible. The majority of this audience probably wouldn't care or even notice these differences.

Awesome review! I have been using a set of AKG K240 Studios as a daily driver for about a year and a half, and love them! They are headphones you could wear all day and not notice any discomfort!

this video is quite misleading and inaccurate. he keeps saying k702, but he is showing the k7xx from massdrop - the k7xx is based on the k702 ANNIVERSARY EDITION, but it sounds very different from the regular k702...the regular k702 has a very sharp sound to it and the ear pads are very stiff and uncomfortable, where as the k7xx has a nice warm sound and has some of the best ear pads known to man. the k702s are crap, like most akg headphones, so dont buy them thinking you will get k7xx. also neither the k7xx nor the k702 are good for monitoring nor should they be considered monitoring headphones....the k702s have a spike in the treble and hte k7xx have a boost in the bass, so neither will give you a true representation of your audio.

They probably sound so boring because they are unpowered, you need a Amp/Dac for these

You should really get yourself a pair of Sennheiser hd650 or hd700. These akg's are nothing compared to them. Also this Red/Black edition is made in china, instead of handmade in Austria, just fyi.
