A lively conversation about the radical changes to religion and art brought about by the "heretic" pharaoh Akhenaten, restoration of the traditional religion under his son, Tutankhamun, and the place that both these kings hold in the popular imagination.

@WhiteWeasel420 The embalming formula used on Egyptian mummies is known to act like a dye and even known to change the hair texture. The Greeks themselves said the Egyptians are a colony of Ethiopia and the Greeks even credit much of their own greatness to Influence from Egyptians and Ethiopians. The princes of Egypt had a special hair braid which was a tradition and hairdo brought up from the south as well. The Egyptians themselves claim origins from Ethiopia.

The two greatest treasures of Ancient egypt came from akhenaten’s family. Nefertiti’s bust from his wife, and Tutankhamun’s golden mask from his son. Not because they were the wealthiest royal family ancient egypt had, but because of the turbulence. Amarna was abandoned and left to dry out. Leaving nefertiti’s bust, and tutankamun’s tomb was forgotten as insignificant
@awuma
@awuma 3 жыл бұрын
Actually, they may have been the richest Royal family in Egypt. Akhenaten's father, Amenhotep III is recognised as ruling at the apogee of Egypt's wealth and power, which was squandered by Akhenaten, based on surviving diplomatic correspondence of the time. The Restoration following Akhenaten's death, led mainly by Horemheb (during Tutankhamun's reign and his own), would have had a political and economic basis as well as religious. Incidentally, Tutankhamun was buried in the Valley of the Kings near Thebes, not at Amarna as inadvertantly suggested above. The entrance to his tomb was covered by detritus from the digging of nearby tombs.
@jerolvilladolid
@jerolvilladolid 3 жыл бұрын
@@awuma i said tutankhamuns tomb was forgotten as insignificant. Not that it was located at Amarna. King Tut was such an irrelevant king, that tomb robbers didnt even find his tiny tomb! I think the akhenaten family isnt really wealthy, since they could not have secured cultural artifacts from thebes since all their treasures had to be created from scratch. The turbulence of akhenaten's rein left many royal treasures unmentioned in records. And thus, out of the radar of tomb robbers.

That bust has already been proven a fake. It’s made of plaster and gypsum. And the neck line is an exact match to the Bloomingdales models of that era. Egyptian Royalty of that dynasty did not use plaster for busts of themselves. Why would they when they could have them made of granite like the black queen Tiye. We know she was black cuz a quartz bust was found in the same Barisal chamber as who they believe is Nefertiti.

I understood that his form in statue is derived from the golden cobra and the green man inside it in cross form resembling redemption. Could this statue be the total form of the two integrated into him. This makes the 3 in his statue as the TAO concludes that everything is made by three. I understand this cause I've seen it, its spiritual awakening. He was a god from God.

@PHARAOH .BRAD They were not black African, read a little bit: An international team of scientists, led by researchers from the University of Tuebingen and the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena, successfully recovered and analyzed ancient DNA from Egyptian mummies dating from approximately 1400 BCE to 400 CE, including the first genome-wide nuclear data from three individuals, establishing ancient Egyptian mummies as a reliable source for genetic material to study the ancient past. The study, published today in Nature Communications, found that modern Egyptians share more ancestry with Sub-Saharan Africans than ancient Egyptians did, whereas ancient Egyptians were found to be most closely related to ancient people from the Near East.

@@flashyboy626 It is not denial, it is science. Their DNA is not matching with black Africans. It is that simple! What will you gain, if they were black? Why do you guys so much want them to be black? Why do you wanna personalize the history for your own ego? I am not using my ego, I am using the point of science, pure science. They were from Western Asia. If you look at the map of The Egyptian Empire during the period of the New Kingdom (c. 1570- c. 1069 BCE) you will see that their empire was going up to Mediterranean countries. Their neighbors were the Hittite Empire, Assyria, Mesopotamia. Remember, when Akhenaten's son Tutankhamon died, his wife asked help from the Hittites. She wanted to marry the Hittite Empire's son to keep her position as a Pharaoh. They have bloodline with Mediterranean countries. They were not black! They were Western Asian. And one more thing; look at your nickname! You are a wannabe pharaoh! You are not a pharaoh, you have never been and you will never be. Use your real name and then let's talk about real history.

Tutenkhamen's burial place was not touched because of the fact of who his father was. The clerics wanted to do away with any memory of Akenaten and his family. Akhenaten wanted to do away with the clerics who became too powerful. King Tut was nine when he became Pharaoh. Tutenkhamen was very young when he died. He wasn't killed like his father was. Akhenaten didn't have anything to do with the Jewish religion. Akenaten did believe in other G-ds. He just thought Aten is the only one to be worshipped. Yes, you have stumbled into the truth. Restore the royal family and lessen the influence of the clerics. The clerics were too powerful and Akenaten wanted to restore the royals. Akhenaten was not gay. He had many children. This was a good video with lots of discussion.

I didn't know Freud wrote a book about this, I've though the same thing for some time! I'd say that you might switch it around, given the context clues. We know the culture Akhenaten was subject to from birth, stylized and exact, but we also know he strayed from that. We know the story of moses, and the archaeological record. I would say that it's more likely that he picked up monotheism from various influences of conquered people from his realm, maybe artists, and scholars. He likely funded them, and connection with Moses and the Egyptian royalty is well established, even through his name. It could be he was a later generation, that had influence from royal circles, or it could be that his own people influenced royal circles. It's hard to say.

When people say, “it has been accepted” beware, because they cannot produce evidence of their own own. Nice man, spent a lot of time with him, but he is stubbornly adamant about his views- which are inherently subjective and basically wrong. Moses can’t possible be Akhenaton, the chronology denies it. Ak and Mo were not contemporary. Carbon Dating alone proves it to be impossible,even with a David Rohl timeshift. Again there is no sound evidence Tut was Ak’s son. Why would he flee into the desert and come back years later? Doesn’t make sense. . Another no no. They start building their tomb at the beginning of their life.? They start at the beginning of their rule. For a more real - accurate version of events, read “Where Moses Stood”, by guess who..... Robert Feather

Akhenaten was the ultimate rebel. His religious reforms were on par with Henry VIII. he took down the temples, and deities of the other gods, and put all the priests out of business, and proclaimed that he was the only way to the one god, the one truth. They must have hated him! He spurned idolatry. It sounds like he was laying down the ground work for Judaism. When he died everything reverted back to the old ways. The most amazing thing about all of this is we have direct evidence of his existence - his earthly remains, and his son's - they can prove it with DNA testing!

Mary Lefkowitz, Professor of Classical Studies at Wellesly College in Massachusetts, has rejected theories about Egyptian contributions to Greek civilization as being fairy tales She contends that ancient Egyptian texts show little similarity to Greek philosophy. Lefkowitz also pointed out that Aristotle could not have stolen his ideas from the Library at Alexandria, because the library was founded after Aristotle's death. She has criticized Afrocentrism as "an excuse to teach myth as history”.

There exists an ancient egyptian tablet showing different shades of human complexion. It ranges from a dark brown (Nubian) shade to a light shade. On top of that, those tribes don't seem to be the same anymore if they even exist. He was probably Nubianish though. Cleopatra IV had an Egyptian mother but her father was Greek.

It’s even said that Queen Nefertiti took on a male persona to act as regent for her stepson “Tut” with Counsellor Ay. Maverick Millennium! Well known that Pharaoh Akhenaten wrote poems and hymns to the Aten just like King David wrote Psalms for Jehovah God. When you fall for the Divine, you fall HARD. 🛐😍 My theory of where Pharaoh Akhenaten’s remains got to: Israel. His daughter, Queen Naamah could-through her son, King Rehoboam, sought pharaoh’s remains be quietly released to her. The Egyptians depicted Nubians as slaves and even King Tut had his enemies depicted on his sandles so that he could walk on their image. Nubians imitated the superior Egyptians. Egyptians seem to have been very racist in fact depicting themselves as superior to those around them. Near the later kingdoms blacks ruled Egypt for a time but that does not make the Egyptian people black nor does make the creators of Egypt black. It just is not true.

King Tut's 8 short tandem repeats autosomal dna were published in JAMA in 2010.It is this DNA Tribes used for their analysis.A short tandem repeat is the cuuting edge of genetic "fingerprinting".This is used in criminal investigations and proscecution.This is an example of a short tandem repeat "gatc,gatc,gatc",four nucleotides in tandem repeating itself 3 times.

@Nibblesguy Why was he shunned and why did they try to erase him. He did not destroy years of any tradition, he improved upon it. He just rejected the fact that he was a God and accepted his mortality. Therefore he built his temple and burial ground within the earth refusing to build a Pyramid as all others did. I say he believe in God because of his own confession and rejection of the notion of all tradition. He never worshiped anything besides God or never demanded any worship. His wife

@Nibblesguy after his death tried to maintain the belief passed down to his two daughters by him. Unfortunately with the title of Pharaoh they was always a co-ruler, this co-ruler went on to cause confusion. He took the Egyptian tradition to a new height teaching truth instead of lies. While all other Pharaohs in their depictions boast of their "victories" some flawed when research is compiled, this one decided to focus on family and God. Don't know if you would find an accurate copy on the net

The Egyptians left many written references to the Black population in Nubia and in their own midst: and at one point, even forbade Blacks from entering their country at all. During the Twelfth dynasty, the inscription on the stela of Sihathor, an "Assistant Treasurer"(found in the British Museum), reads as follows: "I reached Nubia of the Blacks, ... I forced the Nubian chiefs to wash gold."This is a reference to the fact that the Egyptians exacted a yearly tribute from their black neighbors.

The Nubians were recruit to be in the Army of the Egyptians. In fact Moses married one and the Bible tells us that. I think they would called Nubia land of the gold. It was also part of upper Egypt at time and was part of the Egyptian empire Gold was one of the reasons they would fight when Nubia wanted to be separate. You are making comments based on your thoughts. They didn’t have a concept of race, they were all from the same land mass.

Face of the gold mask is his mother and inscribed with names of her son (Tut) and her mother (Nefertiti). It would be an insult for the king to wear the face of another person. His mother is honored by the mask..

The person who maintained his new religion was Moses. Robert FeatherThe

The oldest surviving attempt to construct what we may call an ethnographic chart -that made in the tomb of the Theban prince Rekhm-Ra about a century before the birth of Moses - distinguishes the Egyptians and their neighbors by portraying the black-skinned Negro, the olive-colored Syrians, the red-skinned Egyptian, and the white-skinned Libyan (then unmixed with the Arab hordes)

Akhenaten depicted himself and Nefertiti as Adam & Eve as introduction to the new monotheistic religion of Abraham that had remained throughout the Israelite geneaology. This notion of Adam & Eve relates to creation of mankind and origin which in turn relates to a one God belief.

@Spyder8561 well im not sure i understand the question...people are often talking about whether the egyptians are 'black' or not, and yet based on what ive read about them as history, they seemed to call OTHER people something translated as 'black' and clearly viewed themselves as racially distinct to all the people around them. So i try to apporach this from what i think THEIR perspective would be. i just think 'black', 'white' and 'asian' are crappy words, id rather be more specific.

@Nibblesguy I can point you to some videos on KZfaq from qualified Archaeologist testifying to what I have said. Egyptian doctrine is not easy to understand at first, but a basic principle that you should start with if you indeed are serious about the historic record of Akhenaten then I would suggest starting witin uderstanding the meaning of his name and then progressing from their. Also research the meaning of Atenism. his name in sense would have been pronounced Akhen - Aten.

Anyone else think Akhenaten started the whole one god religion which became Judaism followed by Christianity and Islam? It does make sense. Especially when one considers Moses was an Egyptian prince. Edit: I wrote that very early into the video but it was brought up. While Tut is by far the most famous pharaoh, followed by Nefertiti and Akhenaten, the ancient Egyptians did us a *solid* by trying to erase the very existence of those three. It is a bit ironic they were expunged from the historical record to such an extent they were forgotten but now you think of them when you think of ancient Egypt more than say Ramses II. It is such a shame though we never got to see the grave goods of other mummies bc they would have been even more ornate & fabulous than Tut’s tomb & sarcophagus.
