Following 2020's widely-worshipped "Melinoë", AKHLYS, the globe's premier channelers of abyssal nightmare, return triumphant with six elaborate and exhilarating new tracks of pure Black Metal terror.
Drawing from esoteric and mythical traditions, where the land of dreams is placed within the darkness of the underworld, arises the "House of the Black Geminus". Through labyrinthine halls, shadowed corridors, cellars of dread, and attics of epiphany, as ordeal and ecstasy meet at the vertices where each beholds his own daemon.
With AKHLYS now a monumental live entity, the visceral power of the stage is evident in the band's most all-encompassing, destructive and diabolically grand-sounding record-to-date.
"House of The Black Geminus" is a display of frightening dominance. Combining intense Black Metal with elements of Dark Ambient and Death Industrial, AKHLYS unite psychological horror, orchestrated bludgeon and eerie foreboding on a harrowing journey into pandemonic majesty.

Funeral Mist - Into Ashes. Extra hihat (?) is added to make an effect that sounds like a swarm of bees coming and going (or at least that what it sounds like to me). Sounds incredibly good.

Listening for the production alone, it's remarkable how the harshness and density are contained within a pristine modern extreme metal aesthetic. Mixing this must have been brutal, but the result is outstanding!

David Tomanek actually hit the nail on the head with this Video. Especially considering that it's not an easy task to match this soundscape with something visual. For this Album, the approach to mixing & mastering is actually (slightly) different from previous installments since Naas deliberately wanted Dave Ottero to Master it with as few limiters as possible. The result is absolutely relentless and coarse - exactly what I'm looking for in Black Metal. This is indeed a strong follow-up after Mēlinóē and The Dreaming I (which retains a special place within my heart) - yet this one's got its own dreadful spirit that is unmatched. Thanks for manifesting hell yet again, Naas!

The metal-archives says the band’s pronunciation is Akh-lees but I believe Kyle once said in an interview it’s Akh-liss, not Akh-uh-liss. Unless I’m mistaken. If you could clarify I’d appreciate. Look forward to all future releases on your label.

While this song didn't quite do as much for me as the previous single and previous work I still look forward to the rest of the album. That said, I hope this is the last single before the full release. So many bands are releasing half the album as singles nowadays. I don't have the will power to not listen when I see them, but it spoils the experience of listening to the album, new, fresh, and as a whole once released.
