@Janice Phelan they gave a reputation of being aggressive but having owned two one red male and one cream female I have only seen them be defensive. The other dog be it an Akita, pittbull, Dalmatian or Lhasa Apso always starts shit and the chow chow responds in kind and humiliates the aggressor. Don’t be fooled by their chillness, chows have the mindset, power and protection to take down any dog.

The Akita is the only dog that uses its paws to wrestle and gain top position. This amazing instinct is in the Japanese Akita inu and American Akita.

Good video I love Akita raised 4 of them with My Children, they are protive and smart. This Akita is a young pup he is playful and funny 😄 give him 3 years oh my goodness his body will become huge with a massive bear like head. My Anita's would give me high five with both paws. I miss them 😢 thank you for the video.

Not at all what it’s doing 🤣 that Akita probably isn’t very old, and it’s being taught to socialize. When that Akita gets older if that chow chow pissed it off enough that Akita would shred it.

If so Akita will show mercy lol all kidding aside I have Akita and a chow chow although they play my Akita shows dominance all the time! Its not pretty but my chow chow never gets hurt! He gets wrestled to the ground lol thats all. It is a very cool video thats for sure! 2 Very beautiful dogs but can someone tell me if chow is female? Akita wont be this nice to a male chow no way! Even if 2 males grew up together the Akita will show chow whos boss numerous times lol 😆

I own one. A chow, akita, pit, cattle dog mix. Crazy smart, quiet and loyal. Affectionate and GREAT with kids. Extremely patient with all my annoying smothering cuddles and outfits I make him wear. Sweetest most obedient dog ever. A little separation anxiety.. where he only eats when I'm home and waits by the door until I'm back.

I’ve got an akita x chow, you get all the good and bad traits of both breeds. Best looking dog you’ll ever see and crazy easy to live with but awful with other animals and hates being left alone. They’re great but more work than any other dog I’ve had.

They need a LONG KNOTTED TUG ROPE to play with each other. All dogs love and need these toys to play together. They can assert their dominance without fighting!

I’m surprised that chow didn’t get really PO & freak out. I’ve had 2 chows from baby to old age and they were friendly, loyal, amazing & smart, best dogs ever but if a dog did that to either of mine, a crazy fight would’ve broken out real fast, and they went right for the throat & immediately take down. I had a pitty run up on my chow in our yard one day and my chow had him by the throat & on the ground in under 3 seconds. Its very scary honestly. It’s also hard for other dogs to hurt chows because they have a ridiculous amount of hair , especially the mane, that is difficult to for dogs to penetrate down to their skin. They were very good boys but if another dog initiated via growling & pawing like that it would’ve been game on and then over PDQ lol😬✌️

I think the Chow in this video is not aggressive to the other dog and no big fight because they r raised by the same owner and obviously know each other so they r just friendly and playful otherwise I am sure the chow won't have been so patience.

Akitas are very cat like, licking and grooming, clean freaks, independent, the way they pounce and chase prey. Sometimes my akita reminds me more of a cat than a dog 🐶🐕

The Akita seems like a very smart fighter, even as a pup. Very agile for a bigger dog and good reflexes, plus the way they use their paws. Really not a dog you'd want to fuck with.

Chow is also a hunting dog that chase and trees animals, once an animal is up there they bark high pitched to get your attention. When they are guarding and they bark it is a low pitch deep chest bark

@Larry Niles you guys are the idiots... There are plenty of videos where chowchow are with other dogs of the same sex and do just fine... Stop being prejudice against dog breeds. You don't know these dogs... The owner/s of these dogs know the dogs and know their temperments, better than jugdey ass people on the internet

@@TheNightxSky people now a day act as if dogs are solitary animals that could never live together in packs unless they straight up cut their balls off and any k9 communication to establish a hierarchy between them is pure agression that needs the owner's intervention to save their fur baby. Anything besides that is irresponsible dog ownership.

Easy win for the Akita. Especially if it was fully developed. Chows are strong and confident dogs, but generally speaking, they’re not even in the same league as an Akita.

@@richp860 I don't know, man. Saw some pretty huge and angry chows. Plus their back legs are designed for takedowns. But you are probably right, akita would win. Chows are great against tall opponents. Not this one though, that's some watered down european halfchow.

@@richp860 Not strictly true , you can't judge all dogs by breed, they are like humans ,ie some bigger and stronger than others , a few miles from where I live there is a very large very black Chow he likes humans but unfortunately not other dogs , he has never been bested absolutely no dog ,of whatever breed has got the upper paw over him and by coincidence he was set upon on the beach by a mature Akita in this instance as all other Chang took out his attacker with total ferocity coming away with only a slight bite on his leg . My point is that dogs like humans can't be classified by breed.

We have a chow and we are looking to get an akita possibly one day. Chows are not to be overlooked I don't think mine would be as patient as that one is.. beautiful dogs amd you can tell the Akita is playing..

I have an Akita myself atm and i'm close friends with someone that has a Chow Chow and i think their traits are very much alike. I think a chow has the same stubborn, dominant, loyal and protective behaviour and (at least in me and my friends case) i think the chow chow has those traits even a tad bit more then an Akita (wich i thought was impossible lol)

I think the Chow and Akita in this video must have been raised together so they know each other and just being playful and friendly otherwise I don't think the Chow would be so patience and lazy. If it sees the Akita as an enemy I am sure it would be much more aggressive and pounced on it in no time.

Had a chow and still have Akita. Chows are nothing to play with ours was like a guard dog and hated strangers in the house can get very aggressive if defending family. Still Akita my favorite.

I got a Chow Shepherd mix majority Chow. His dad is a Chow Shepherd mix and his mom is full Chow. He looks a lot like that Akita but all black with the black tongue and same fur length . He’s 11 months and he’s almost that Akita’s size. He look like a taller more athletic Chow with an Akita muzzle and physique. He’s protective, confident, powerful, smart, athletic, energetic, and quick. Chow 2.0 lbs

My Chow Chow doesn’t like American Akita to be too enthusiastic and excited. To avoid fighting, they separate, one in the garden and one in the house.😪😪

I've had both breeds, don't have them together..the A.A. is much larger and will kill, no alpha b.s. Keep your Chow and find a one animal home for the Akita. Not sure about the J.A. but I wouldn't put them with other dogs either.

No. That Akita was just wanting to play and taunt. That’s not how they establish dominance. It’s also still young. If it wanted to manhandle that Chow, it would have. Just a pup wanting to have fun.

Akita is the alpha male and he demands respect, he will push untill he gets respect. He will fight for it, and believe me, they are trained figthers from being born without any training. They are lovely dogs, but they will always show the confidence to challenge any type of dog, they are Leaders, Bosses...

Akita Inus are way different from Shiba Inus just by looking at their face it's really easy to define which is which especially with that big size difference plus Shiba Inus aren't that fluffy compared to akitas and Akita fur markings the orange part only reaches up until the forehead unlike the Shiba that goes all the way up to the nose
