Not really. Understand the fundamentals of the stock and your end goal - then decide whether it's time for you to book profits.
I teach this very point in this video - watch till the end. :)

Yes! but still make your own research. And I would avoid the index funds, mutual funds, or specific stocks for the time being. The 5% fixed incomes are the safest bet for now. Or hire/ work with a good market strategist. You’re safer that way

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 and first half of this year with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. Safe investors should invest in hdfc bank if you have a rational return expectation...if you want high risk high return...then dont invest...fyi I am also a high risk investor but since hdfc is giving a safe opportunity of good return, hence I still prefer it...I also look at technicals and then invest rather than 100% relying on Akshat or anyone else's comment ..you still have to put your brain because it is your money

But, we have to understand that how the earnings is calculated. According to Indian accounting, the massive expense on advertisement and product R&D is expensed, not depreciated. Let's see in different perspective that how much money will be required if you want to create the same consumer product company that you have discussed?

all such videos are mainly focused towards selling the courses..there is good money in teaching, much better than stock investing 😊.. long term data suggest that most of the active fund management underperform the index return due to expense charges and random churning of stocks.. when market is in bull phase, all looks nice but during bear phase, most of the stocks lose 50-80% of their value.. So unless someone really understand investing(which might take very long time), its much better to stick index fund ..

Yes, they all are at the proper levels. Ujivan may not go further down. Canara Bank just respected the levels of 31st May & growing *UP* healthyly. So does the Union Bank, Mahabank & PNB. All are ready for making news from tomorrow. PSU bank & PSUs ETFs has already started growing. Possibly it will be supported by NBFCs. Electric stocks are flowing already. I shall park some in BANKBEE & focus on PSU bank stocks tomorrow.

I believe investors should focus on under-the-radar stocks, especially given the present rollercoaster nature of the stock market. 35% of my $270,000 portfolio consists of collapsing stocks that were previously respected, and I don't know where to go from here.

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert

It's true that many people underestimate the importance of advisers until their own feelings burn them out. A few summers ago, following an ongoing divorce, I needed a significant push to keep my company afloat. I looked for licensed advisors and found someone with outstanding qualifications. She has contributed to my reserve increasing from $275k to $850k regardless of inflation.

We all knew inspite of under value, both HDFC couldn't yield much profit for the investors; Specifically on this stock, Stakeholder pattern impacting the stock price growth; 47% FII, 35.46% DII, the Indian stock market is purely driven by public, since public share is 17.36% is very much less than FII, DII, FII and DII couldn't push this stock price; This will continue to happen for some more time, unless there is a big change in financial results; It is applicable to Kotak as well; Please check for other stocks where FII /DII / Public investments % in the same pattern as similar to HDFC. Better to move the investment out of this stock.

One important aspect you missed to cover here having said all about micro and small caps is their exit strategy. You could have shared at least one or two quick exit strategies to get atleast capital back- but what are its triggers w.r.t. PE, Growth aspects etc. extend w.r.t. Nandan itself. If fall happened every cycle with market issues or its about its PE rerating etc etc.

So in short check stocks in my portfolio for whether their PE is above or below their baseline PE. If its above the baseline, we can choose to cut or exit otherwise wait to maxout the profits? This goes for Large Cap stocks. For micro and small caps we need to look if they have earning potential in the coming future or not? If yes then stay put otherwise cut or exit? And I think same goes for mid caps also?

I've been seeing a lot of negativity about HDFC Bank lately. However, I view HDFC differently, as it helps balance my portfolio during market downturns. Last week, I had some cash on hand, so I purchased 70 shares of HDFC. My reasoning is that if every mutual fund has HDFC with the highest weightage, why shouldn't I? By the way, my portfolio is currently up by +51%, so I need solid stocks like HDFC for my larger portfolio. Thanks Akshat u are my mentor in this journey so far

Actually it's due to *share holding pattern* & the strong convictions of those who holds it. TCS was on the same track, but the SEBIs rules made it partly vulnerable. (TATAs were not happy to let it go) But it's temporary. That too will crystalize soon.

In the case of banks, you normally look at price to book ratio. HDFC bank used to grow at more than 25 percent in the past. Hence it used to trade at expensive valuation of 4-5 P/B. From the numbers, it seems HDFC bank's loan book is not growing anymore as they are not able to raise deposits on the liabilities side. For the re-rating, it needs to grow at more than 25 percent. There is no doubt about the high quality of the bank. But the size is too big and considering the current growth scenario, the current P/B of 3 is not cheap when you compare it with other private sector banks. Could you please explain how HDFC bank is still a good investment choice?
