Tip as you feel comfortable. I kept 20 and 50 peso notes on me. I typically tipped 50 at a la carte restaurants and left one for the maid every other day; I used 20 peso notes for tipping bartenders and servers who engaged me, and the servers at the buffet.

Thanks for watching the video and have a great trip (you're gonna love it!). We stayed in Room 3220. Pretty quiet and not too much of a walk to the lobby/buffet hall. It was nice to keep the balcony door open with only the screen and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Cheers!

I'm afraid I can't comment on the other two places that you mentioned but the sargassum is continually being cleared from Akumal beach, especially where you access the water. We didn’t find it to be an issue and depending on the time of year, it isn't very bad. The benefits of snorkeling in the bay outweigh the seaweed. Good luck with your decision.

@@thebrownknowser Yes and it was amazing Bro. Holly God never seen something like that and i was in Cuba and Dominican Republic, at Dominicana the snorkeling was good and Cuba was nothing but this looks like a movie. These were to be my last long trip holidays without children because from Poland its like 14 hours to travel and i am slowly feeling old:) If the snorkeling and beach looks like on Your video i am hyped and need nothing else like a cold beer and maybe a shot tequila. This also looks like it is not so crowded like the other resorts, thats also a big + for me. Best wishes to You.

Because of the pandemic and because we stayed at an all-inclusive resort, we didn’t go to any restaurants in the town, though we did see many. I'll be returning in January and will make a point to explore the town more. If you're going soon, I'd appreciate your recommendations.

I never found that to be the case. Maybe it's noisier at buildings 1 and 2 but all I could hear from building 3 was the ocean waves.

@@thebrownknowser i stayed in building 3. We had 20 family members stay there and most had similar complaints. One couple even had to move room from clapping cheeks too load
