Salam, I hope the Shaykh is well. I have a question regarding the attributes of Allah Kareem. Are the attributes a part of Allah and how should we correctly hold our belief regarding this? Jazak Allah

The criteria for spouse selection in Islam is "religion(deen) and character(akhlaaq)" as per a hadith. Why did the Hadith(saying of the Prophet) say deen, but not imaan? If a person has deen,he is going to have character, right? Are they two things? If a person has deen,it means "he pays attention to his basic religious obligations seriously, observes the limits in morals(by imitation or because of parents) and can be externally identified as a person of religion". Not just in legal sense. What's in his heart and the level of sincerity or the level of his devotion in his worship are not to be judged. These things come under the definition of "high imaan". Or it means brightness of the heart. When the society has behavioural problems, they have to be reminded about deen, common sense and character buillding. Topics related to "high imaan" are not required. Character A person can be said to have deen(religion) because he claims so. But people are'nt interested to deal with him socially because his manners(akhlaaq) are ugly. Like the one who uploads videos to prove that "Mr.X the liar from Birmingham" is wrong and he is right. And 2000 angry hot heads from UK Asian community are given opportunity to write debased comments. Can anyone marry his daughter? Maybe these 2000 hot heads must be asked if they would. Definition of character is what David Brooks wrote. A person of character means a person who has emotional control. He can check his disposition and knows how to reform it. He judges issues very critically and does not make useless statements. Another incident can clarify the issue. The companions of the prophet went to meet the most special wife of the prophet and asked her "What was the khulq(character) of the prophet at home". They weren't asking whether he(Our prophet) practised religion at home or if he had another moral standard inside the home. Question was about his expression style or mannerism of a husband. Verification of facts in Islam A person appears in a video. He is sitting in car and hurriedly says 'Assallam alaikumu brothers, this is quick video about Mr.X the liar from Birmingham who gave this opinion.." Then he talks about a topic which is not relevant to be mentioned here because he has the failed in many Islamic standards The video starts with a picture of the person he disagrees with 1. Whats the need to mention "Birmingham"? Perhaps he has another enemy in Birmingham and his hatred was exposed. Or he hates entire Birmingham. (Indication : A person of no emotional control and therefore cant be listened to) 2. There is a catchy headline to get attention. (Indication : A lot of emphasis to express grudge. His family affairs are likely to be ruined) 3. The video has no proof that the speaker has checked and authorized it to be uploaded Indication : He cant manage his life's affairs efficiently and therefore cant be trusted for opinions. He cant be appointed at a responsible job. The video has a comment section where anyone can write anything and there's no moderation Indication : His house, property and dignity wont be safe. Can be easily scammed. If a person listens a person of no standard with engaging interest,he can acquire the same dirty manners and say about others "Oh this short Hindi speaking guy from London" The science of "keeping the mind at rest about advanced religious issues and strictly adhere to basic Islam" Currently, there are 3 hour long videos of a famous Muslim speaker trying to refute atheism by debating with an atheist. Rather than wasting 3 hours on internet, there is an easy way to not to get a psychiatric disorder called "religious mania" and make life easy. If someone wants to question the existence of Allah,a simple answer is enough. "Allah exists for sure. He is uncreated. His essence cant be described. But humans can witness Allah's signs in the creation. But Allah is not part of the created things. We have this understanding because of prophets and their message. Now,its up to people to decide whether they want to know Allah(to have awe) or they keep talking about him in a vague theoretical way. If someone feels,he does not need Allah, then its his problem. He may have a disposition dysfunction, health issue or he maybe blinded by a grudge just like a person who hates entire Birmingham because of someone residing there. People with such issues need to rest their minds and associate with decent people with sound social aptitude. This will give heart certain inclinations(called asraar in Arabic). That will lead him to where he needs to go. Reading a lot of books or debates cant lead to anything. Trying to know Allah without social emotions is not how the Prophet delivered the message of Islam" Finished. No need for 3 hours of brain damage from a video. Try reciting one verse of the Quran with awe. To repeat: When the society has lack of agreeable morals ,people have to be reminded about deen, common sense and character buillding. Topics related to "high imaan" are not required. --- Related: From the book "Road to character" ❎❎ Character is built in the course of your inner confrontation. Character is a set of dispositions, desires, and habits that are slowly engraved during the struggle against your own weakness. You become more disciplined, considerate, and loving through a thousand small acts of self-control, sharing, service, friendship, and refined enjoyment. If you make disciplined, caring choices, you are slowly engraving certain tendencies into your mind. You are making it more likely that you will desire the right things and execute the right actions. If you make selfish, cruel, or disorganized choices, then you are slowly turning this core thing inside yourself into something that is degraded, inconstant, or fragmented. You can do harm to this core thing with nothing more than ignoble thoughts, even if you are not harming anyone else. You can elevate this core thing with an act of restraint nobody sees. If you don’t develop a coherent character in this way, life will fall to pieces sooner or later. You will become a slave to your passions. But if you do behave with habitual self-discipline, you will become constant and dependable.” David Brooks
