About Married with Children:
The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharine-sweet TV families popular since the days of Father Knows Best. With offbeat humor and unflinching honesty, Married... paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all. Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). The thing I missed when first I watched the show is that Al is not a bad guy at all, he is a victim. He is neither smart nor skilled, but he is the only one with a job, and despite the constant abuse he is under he still tries to do what is best for his family

Nah he is a bit of a narcissist who lives in the glory days of high school when he had his only real success. Doing the best for his family is secondary but he does provide for them, many folk in the first world countries are in that boat of barely scraping by in a consumerist world

@@y_ffordd but the thing is, if Al had even a somewhat decent wife, like Marcy his life would have been so much better. He is married to someone who does nothing, and thinks only for herself. And her venomous attitude have poisoned the children. The reason why he focus so much on his past is because that is before he met Peggy that is before his life got ruined, and it seems obvious that Kelly was the reason he married her, along with her trigger happy hillbilly family, that is he got a literal shutgun wedding.

And keep in mind, NO MA’AM only started in season eight. Yet it is even more iconic for the show. Part of it is the effectiveness of the character or plot feature. Part of it is that they were around toward the end, and so that’s what we remember.

Why? It's a scam. They get you to join under the pretense of protecting the country, then send you to kill people thousands of miles away who's only crime is that they want nothing to do with your country; all so a few pathetic b@$tards in your homeland can line their pockets more. After that, you come home washed up and crippled, and the same country gives you minimal support essentially casting you aside with all your physical and mental scars. Oh, but you will definitely get a "Thank you for your service". I wrote this with America in mind, but it's the same for many places. Few militaries are worth joining. Only if your country is developed and stable, and keeps to itself on the world scene, is it worth joining. Otherwise they send you to kill innocent civilians, or send you to the other side of the world to stir up trouble.
