Al has had this 2005 GU-4 Nissan Patrol sitting in the compound for a few years now and its time to get this project started!
We built the 24 Valve P-Pump Cummins 6BT with @DEBOSS GARAGE 2 years ago but before it can be fitted we need to remove the body from the Chassis and come up with a game plan for the project.

@@theskidfactory hi again,probably,,i dont want to rain on your parade,but,the cummins 2,8 is not a bad choice,if you bought the whole foton,its cheaper, 10k,,..BUT, if,you bothered to do any,research,,you would of spent 5k,max,,on a mercedes,n57/m57. just my $300. worth of observation..OR,you could of gone the no computer rout,with a 700 nm MWM, 4.2tdi..but,its your ........ ..mery xmas,happy new yr..we hope..might go the moon,hav,nt heard of any stupid gov with corona up there..all the best.

I work in a Toyota dealer in the states and work on cars all day but there’s something about this channel that is fun and relaxing and makes working on cars seem fun again, not just a job.

That's what you get when you have the experience and contacts that Al has to be able to run his own 2 man workshop business. It's a shame so many people get into an industry because they enjoy the job only to get burnt out and leave due to the work environments etc

@Aspire198 yeah that’s pretty much the case, work conditions/shops tend to vary depending on which dealer you’re at. Lucky I’m at a decent one with more than one dealer in the group

Hey Al and Woody, highly reccomend you look at bracing the rear coil tower while the cab is off, it's a weak point on those things especially if you are going to be sending it with hydro bumps and remote res shocks 👌

That's really only a problem with overloading hidden by pumped up air shocks. Common with utes.

@@BobMonkeypimp The problem with a fork lift is you need one hand to operate the forks and the other to operate the steering wheel. You need your hands operate other controls and adding drive controls would be too much. Unless of course you could have a joystick drive. That would free up one hand for drive controls and leave the other for the fork controls. They have joystick drive controls on a bunch of other equipment so I don't see why they wouldn't have a joystick drive fork lift.

Love the Nissan wheel nut indicators, notorious alloys for expanding at a different rate to the steel studs working the nuts loose and therefore the wheels!

Awesome! An Aussie/Canuck combo. We use a lot of Cummins engines in Can. Mostly driven by Urban/City Cowboys. In Manitoba the winter joke is, the folks with the Big Lifted trucks/suv's end up in the ditch first. Why: ice/snow plus a stiff 50-70km side wind = truck go side ways, not to mention they are doing 100km/hr passing everyone else, cus they "Think" they are tough, lol, wrong-o. Today it's -31 deg. C with the wind chill, and going to -40 deg. C tonight. Most the diesel folks are trying just to start their vehicles. Imagine we still work on our cars outside in this during these condition. Still, thanks for Coming to Canada 2 years ago. Next time come to Winnipeg in August, we have a truly massive (unknown by the rest of Canada) Tuner scene. Lots of cool clubs, and meets !

I've got a slightly toasted 24v Cummins at home. I was going to build it because it has a better head than a 12v. Never thought of swapping the 24v onto 12v block. I was going to convert the 24v block to take a p pump

I really like that new intro! A great Christmas present for us. Love the idea of a diesel swap. I have one in my truck for heading out into the desert to find old abandoned mines to explore. I NEVER runs out of power. A bit lacking in rear traction, but feels like it would twist the driveshaft before it runs out of power. Love it!

Dobinsons is Australian. I got a rear end leaf spring kit for my car. Made in Australia and engineered. I was planning at one point to get a 1,000kg constant load kits due to the heavy hauls I kept getting when I worked my vehicle.
