Former consistent 211 consumer. I offered it to ppl all the time. Some would say, im not drinking that mess,I have to work tomorrow. Or im not going through nothing rn, I don't need it. I could be wrong but pretty sure St. Ides stopped making beer under that name in the 90s. Steel Reserve was their replacement. Steel Reserve is much worse. Not sure if St. Ides has made a comeback or whatever, but it was better than SR.

Skunk smell and taste comes from something called "Light Strike" it occurs when light breaks down the isohumulone compounds in the beer which are produced when hops are boiled. I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that hops are closely related to weed as well. Light Strike is most common in green or clear bottles because more light gets through to the beer. I learned this in Chicago when I lived there and fell in love with the breweries out in the Midwest!

Mickey's grenades were the shit with the puzzles! Week nights in college would be a six of grenades and bag of pork rinds. But yeah you should try Schlitz (the blue bull) and Olde English, I haven't drank a 40 in years but Schlitz was my go to for awhile. Steel Reserve was for nights you wanted to forget, those get pretty rough by the end. I seem to remember them being a higher ABV in my state back in the day.

I’ve had all of these once in my 40 years. Mickeys is the best tasting. Natural ice was my most tried, and steel reserve was the one I made the worst decisions after drinking. Not really a drinker nowadays but fun times.

Schlitz blue bull, Mickey’s, and Old English were the go to throughout the 90s here in Houston. Steel Reserve and King Cobra was frowned upon.

Dont drink anymore but mickeys was one of my go tos when i was looking to get my drink on for cheap, and those little grenade bottles with the puzzles under the cap were always a good time at the kick backs. Southern Nevada here btw

The fact you can get a 40 is amazing. They outlawed that stuff here. Any beer in glass is better than a can. The good old days. The 40 is the week night option. The 3 beers and bed crowd if you will or 3 at a time for the more experienced. AB used to make all those in 40's.God rest those beers.

I grew up near Detroit (live in Bama now). Mickey's always seemed to be available. Crazy Horse was an oldie but a goodie, but I think it went out of business.
