Teach the guys to turn around and find the fall 1 second before completion at a full run. That's how you get interceptions. Two interceptions would have won the national championship.
@darthsaban86652 жыл бұрын
Agree about needing to learn how to turn and look for the ball in coverage, but the secondary isn't going to be young in 2022. Battle and Hellams are seniors. Branch, Moore and Ricks are juniors. Kool-aid is a sophomore with alot of starting experience. Every level of the defense is deep and experienced heading into 2022.....there is no reason Alabama shouldn't have the best defense in CFB

So true. Even at the NFL level. Turning to find the ball must be harder than it looks.

I think these are both MASSIVE moves for Saban and the Crimson Tide!!! Coach is playing chess when so many other coaches are playing checkers. I bet Nick realized that the Cristobal hire in Miami meant that recruiting in Florida, especially South Florida (where I am originally from - Miami) just got more difficult, like you stated Ty. Saban has been plucking players right out of the back yards of all of the coaches in the state of Florida for years. But Mario now being in Miami changes things. At least for UM it does. So you're right, Coach Saban needed to add someone to his staff that had that South Florida connection and he did just that by hiring Miami native Travaris Robinson!!! Hutzler's tries to the state of Florida are an aded bonus. Great content as always Ty!!

Something that needs to be point out is that not only has Trob been a good recruiter, he has been a successful recruiter within a school that had close to 0 budget for football until they got blasted on national TV for it. With the odds against him this guy still managed to get 5* recruits into the school. Just imagine what he can do within a school that has such a high winning mindset and big budget.

Well he was only at Miami for one year so that’s a bad example though he did get Chris Graves who is super underrated. Not sure about the five stars there. Now he did a good job at South Carolina and UF recruiting but I think he’s overrated as a cb coach. I’m sure with Saban, though, he’ll look much better. Also budget and the administration at Miami not giving a crap is long gone. 180 degrees in terms of money on staff, administration, etc. benefits may not be immediately dramatic but the next three years will be a lot different than the last three years.

These guys better be super recruiters; because both of these rooms are resume builders next year. Like Cuba Gooding said, SHOW ME THE RECRUUUITS (or an approximation of that).

TRob has a nice resume in recruiting, but I think with the Alabama brand behind him it will be even better. Hutzler doesn’t have as long of a history, but apparently he’s really popular in locker rooms.
@bombs64142 жыл бұрын
@@aroundthetablesports that’s an excellent point; the importance of balancing the locker room with more than just talented coaches, but being relatable to the youth on that team is so important. Unwavering leadership mixed with mutual respect and understanding is vital for a team to buy into the process. You see that after a team wins a championship; there’s some unearned entitlement that blocks common sense and a willingness to give up your individuality for the whole.

Robinson looks like a guy who has been working hard to find a home for his talent. I suspect Saban picked up on this and showed him that he has a bright future in Tuscaloosa. What's not to like with Hutzler? Any time you can get a multi-talented coach to contribute to your team on a number of levels you are going to get better. Saban is a coaching catalyst. Anybody who comes to Alabama leaves a better person and coach. Bringing in bright minds and proven results seems to be a Saban staple. Both of these guys could stick around-which would be great for the Tide. Now, if we could only convince an NFL team to hire Bill O'Brien the offseason would need a fireworks show already. One caveat, for honesty. Second year OCs tend to do better than their first year, but BO does some atrocious play calling and instead of being cute, he needs to take it to opposing defenses. Will he change in year two if he stays? I hope to the good Lord he does. BTW, Stetson Bennett is returning to Georgia, so we're likely going to see a rematch! ROLL TIDE!
