Hope AL fans will have realistic expectations about the new coach. As good a deal as this job can be, it’s not the only good coaching job out there so some top names may not be interested. The new coach won’t be Bear, or Saban.

If you get the Washington HC put Pruitt or Charlie Strong as his defensive coordinator, they hold down the defense and help with recruiting and they are a placeholder HC if things don't work out.

How do we know that’s not happening right now? Just because Lanning came out and said he’s staying at Oregon doesn’t mean he was offered the job at any point. I doubt Lanning was ever a serious contender just based on his age.

@@mattsmash93 well because the team had to have a players meeting and agree not to get in the portal! You know these kids are getting calls from other players from other schools. We all are wondering who it will be. We just had another great class sign and kids are not as patient as some should. That is uncertainty! Not knowing what is going on in that building causes uncertainty and panic

Kiffin just signed an extension with Ole Miss it would be a big fu to them if he quits after that ESPECIALLY after the transfer portal players he got and what he has built over their just to come to Bama and start over even if he was taking over a program like Bama. If they won the championship I think he stays. He said the reason for stepping down was that he felt he didn't have the energy to give it his all and said that if he did they would have not made the mistakes in the Michigan game and would have had a better play available for 4th and goal in overtime. He took responsibility for not doing a good enough job and that it wasn't right for him to remain the head coach. I don't think he admitted that to himself until the day he resigned.
