If, during the transition, Deboer doesn't use Saban for recruiting, it would be a terrible mistake. He needs to build the next step of the program so that, when Saban isn't around, he has the clout to recruit on a Nick Saban level. Use the resources that are available. RTR!

Coach Sabin is the best to do it but Coach took Washington to the national championship game. So he can damn sure do it in Tuscaloosa... Mich will miss a bowl game this year calling it now.

Pretty much. Saban retired because his former boss (Emmert) doesn’t control the narrative and allow Bama to get away with everything. Now the playing field is even (if you have lots of money) and get away with whatever. It’s why Saban got out.

I think the “downfall” is Bama maybe losing 1.5-2 games more than Saban’s average. But realistically Bama will still be fighting for sec championship appearances and consequently sec championships. Maybe not as consistently but still.

When people talk about Nick Saban and what made him great the one thing more than anything that made him great is the people around him you know how hard it is to keep a 17 or an 18-year-old attention for more than 5 Seconds get them to play at their absolute best keep them out of trouble and in bed before midnight so that you don't start getting phone calls from parents and grandparents asking where's my baby every year you basically have to hire a completely new staff and do it all over again at the end of every year schools would come in and hire his offensive coordinators his position coaches his defensive coordinators

Last year we lost two games to playoff teams and beat the best team in the country. The year before we lost two games on the last play of the game at Tennessee and at LSU by a combined what 3 points?
