Yes, Nelson repeatedly came through with big baskets when Bama needed them. Instead of giving Davis the ball to take inside against the entire Bama team, Carolina should have passed the ball, set up some kind of offensive play. If they wanted to go t their hot player it should have been the UNC #3 man. He had the hot hand for them. Not Davis.

If not Alabama, Clemson would have done it. I didn't have North Carolina in my Elite Eight in any of my brackets. Sorry, but Bacot is awful, and RJ Davis is a ballhog who flops his way to the free throw line every game. Fake team, hyped up because of the additions of Cormac Ryan and Ingram Paid teams never win... UNC played a real team that only got better after losing Quinerly (a selfish player) and Miller (who never cared about the team, just wanted to be a top 2 draft pick).

I knew it before the tournament started. North Carolina was a horrible #1 seed. This was a season when there were three dominant teams followed by everyone else. Anyone who thought UNC could do anything was lying. Mediocre at best compared to great Carolina teams

1:09 is where UNC lost the game. That's a terrible decision. 14 seconds on the clock, up by 1. You don't need a three and you're not a 3pt shooter. Shot fake and drive to the basket or kick it back to the playmaker Davis, that's your game. Smh.

With the 1st half that UNC had with Cadeau and Trimble on the court why were they largely relegated to the bench in the 2nd half? Doesn’t look like most of yall watch basketball 🏀 or know the game you just watched. Tournament time is a fight regardless of your seeding. Bama has a top offensive in the NCAA. Even with RJ’s bad game Carolina was up one point with the ball, in the bonus, with a minute left and the ball. It’s likely Carolina would have won the game if Withers doesn’t take an unneeded 3 point shot with 15 seconds on the shot clock… he’s not a shooter or take these type shots during the season. I even question why he was even in the game at that time. Everyone knows it’s pick and roll time with the point guards with a high free throw percentage while in the bonus at the end of this game as they were doing with RJ. Which was working. The game was given away to Bama in the last minute bout it.

Hubert Davis said it best..Alabamas length bothered UNC all second half. Still, unc would’ve probably won if Withers hadn’t taken that horrible three point shot late. Give it back to your senior leading scorers Davis and Bacot to run a pick and roll and get to the line. That’s what makes the big dance such a great metaphor for life..survive and advance. Tourney time ends brutally for every team except one.

We didn’t have our greatest game, but when it really mattered, the defense was extremely good. Grant Nelson won us that game. He’s not always the best, but he will deliver when it matters the most.
