I don't think the finger thing has to do with anxiety/autism, it's just a thing that some pianists do differently. Fingering technique is different with every pianist. Terrence's fingers are long enough to reach keys so that he doesn't have to use the thumb as often, so maybe it is beneficial for him to have it in that position when he moves higher in the keys with his right hand. My thoughts :)
